John Andersen (NWO) - played by Dingo
Niles Powers (NWO) - played by Frederic
Dr.Peter Schmidt (Void Engineers) - played by Stayka

<John_Andersen> Oh, gentlemen...

John_Andersen grins evilly

<DrSchmidt> Oh, Mr.Andersen...

<John_Andersen> The thing is that we currently have 3 working teams in Birmingham.

<DrSchmidt> All Enlightened Scientists?

<John_Andersen> Day to day ops are taken by unenlightened personnel and the MiB's our Progenitor colleagues supply.

<DrSchmidt> This isn't too few.

<John_Andersen> Unfortunately, the prior No.1 team has started falling apart.

DrSchmidt nods in acknowledgement.

<John_Andersen> Their team leader has become an RD, and is currently on all extermination lists.

DrSchmidt's eyebrow shoots up.

<DrSchmidt> An RD? This is serious!

<John_Andersen> Their resident scientist, Dr.Ikari, has gone back into the Void to construct an amalgam of flesh and machine he was calling an Angel. The remaining members are a bit - shall we say - chaotic...

DrSchmidt frowns and wonders why something about this sounds faintly familiar.

<John_Andersen> Birmingham has been under close watch for the last 4 days since it happened.

DrSchmidt nods. That would be logical...

<John_Andersen> (Actually, I have decided to continue my prior sessions in Birmingham and expand on the last team.)

<DrSchmidt> (^_^)

<John_Andersen> Unfortunately, she had a quite high clearance and her fall is a great problem for us.

John_Andersen turns on a screen.

DrSchmidt puts his attention to it.

John_Andersen shows an image of a young woman in a black suit, wearing long blue dreadlocks and an evil smile.

<John_Andersen> This is Catharine Blacksbury, one of the remaining members of the Amalgam. She is a combat operative of the NWO... She has some problems currently with her devices...

<DrSchmidt> Mhm.

John_Andersen shows another picture of a stunning young man looking almost too perfect.

<John_Andersen> This is Danayel Hanlon, a Void Engineer who was brought up in space. He is an expert in electronics, surveillance and Dimensional problems. He is currently taken up with his own work and close work with our currently most valued operative.

John_Andersen shows the picture of a tall American Indian, with long unbridled hair and a stunning smile.

<John_Andersen> This is Peter Redraven. He is a rarity among the Progenitors. He has found some new ways to use gene enhancing in combat.

DrSchmidt agrees. Native Americans tended to end up with the Dreamspeakers in many cases.

<John_Andersen> He is a PhD in genetics and has gone to the best schools in England, since his grandfather transported the Redraven family to England in 1934. He is quite valued as an operative for his skills in combat, and his perceptiveness and intelligence. He is quite a catch for our organization.

DrSchmidt thinks it is good that there are at least some combat experts around.

<John_Andersen> So now we have our prime team almost halved. That is why I requested assistance from outside, and that is why we are grooming a new Amalgam. We are in need of a working team that may take care of the current situation.

DrSchmidt smiles wryly.

<John_Andersen> The secondary amalgam is primarily scientifically oriented, even though it is quite large.

DrSchmidt thinks he is pretty much scientifically oriented, too.

<John_Andersen> The Birmingham base is well equipped for its status. I have put it in motion 8 months ago.

John_Andersen puts up a picture of the tall skyscraper they are in.

<John_Andersen> This is the Bertram Tower. It was built in 1999 to house multiple offices and businesses. My concerns have aquired it slowly since 2000. The whole real estate has been finally purchased in late 2000, and the modification work was started in the beginning of 2002. The base is not complete yet. The huge landing bay on top of the skyscraper and the defenses were our primaries.

DrSchmidt thinks he would really love to learn flying such a chopper one day.

<John_Andersen> Currently this base can support most of our needs. We have a cover in the first 5 floors of the building, but up from that are security levels and labs. Dr.Schmidt, you may be interested that on floor 31, there are 2 dimensional exploration labs. There you will be able to find most of the stuff you need.

DrSchmidt's face lights up. Indeed, this is interesting!

<John_Andersen> Levels 23-36 are meant for laboratories, training facilities and armouries.

DrSchmidt thinks that an ExtraDim Lab is a bit unsuspected in such a place that seems dominated by the NWO.

<John_Andersen> Oh, I may control this nice place, but I do it according to my own vision, Petey... Levels 37-39 are meant for business offices, team rooms, and prep stations.

DrSchmidt frowns slightly. The Mind powers of Mr.Andersen are pretty impressive - and somewhat disconcerting.

<John_Andersen> 40 is the pool, 41 is the recreation room and 42-45 are housing.

DrSchmidt remembers the swimming area. Nice indeed.

<John_Andersen> Levels 46-50 are general storage, and 51-54 are modified into the airfield.

DrSchmidt thinks he really liked that little hangar.

<John_Andersen> Unfortunately, currently only floors 40, 41, 42 and 43 are operative. Below, the first 5 floors are reserved for "the Bertram Corporation" a marketing company that return quite some profit. The levels 6-18 are mostly security stations and empty space. As for our day to day business, floors 37 are 39 are operative for offices and preparation rooms.

DrSchmidt wonders if the Amalgam members are offered additional training in other abilities here.

<John_Andersen> Yes in quite some. But you will have to wait for a while for the programs to start. Most of the training facilities and labs are still under construction.

DrSchmidt squints his eyes. Mind Procedures might be a good idea...

<John_Andersen> (Sorry, I thought you asked about that.)

<DrSchmidt> (I *thought* that, LOL. I prefer to listen to John and not interrupt him *g*)

<John_Andersen> As for 19-21, these house the unenlightend personnel who work on the menial tasks and the stocks they use. 22 is a pure security level that stops people from going anywhere where they shouldn't be going. As for the labs, the working floors are: 25 - Q division; 31 - Dimensional E&C division...

DrSchmidt makes a note to drop in there once in a while. Both in Q Division and Dim E&C.

<John_Andersen> 33 and 34 - Genetics and Health check; and 36 - the cybernetics division.

<John_Andersen> You should also note that the quartermaster, disimbursements and armoury are located on floor 46.

<DrSchmidt> 26-30, 32 and 35 are still free for expansion?

DrSchmidt is glad that he has an eidetic laptop.

<John_Andersen> And I should also note that not all floors are accessible. The lift can take you to some of the floors, the others can be only accessed by an access card with the right access codes and gene ids. That is, you won't be getting in any other levels you don't need to be in. The stair doors are also locked if it is a restricted level. Well, to lessen the amount of people going everywhere, I have created a system that allows the general stores to be only accesible to the quartermaster unit. Also some of the security levels are only allowed to security personel, like our Niles Powers here.

John_Andersen smiles.

DrSchmidt wonders if he'll get clearance for Q Division *and* Dim E&C.

<John_Andersen> Well, you are already cleared for the Dim E&C.

<DrSchmidt> Good.

<John_Andersen> That is one of the things your colleagues here required of me as soon as I informed them you would be arriving. Well, that is all about our Construct that you need to know. You can get access to labs you are cleared for or invited in.

DrSchmidt hopes he'll be invited to the Q Division labs, too, as loves to put together advanced Devices of all kinds.

<John_Andersen> Any problems and nastiness, please talk to me, so we can solve it as friendly and as quickly as possible. If anyone wants to talk to me about anything you can do that. Just try not to get me out of bed or jump in during my official work. Well, my office is here on #39... and if I am not there, I am either touring the building or on the restricted part of level 38 where my personal quarters are.

John_Andersen smiles encouragingly...

<DrSchmidt> Sir? I'd like to request clearance for the Q Division labs, too. I worked together closely with R&E in my Convention, too.

<John_Andersen> Ahhh, well. We can arrange something. I think that DCM will probably use you for field tests, and as for the Q Division, I'll see if they need testers or workers. Just remember that your primary is field work.

<DrSchmidt> I can give them valuable input about the Devices we might need. This was what I did together with the R&E guys, too.

<John_Andersen> Most of the other Enlightened personnel and Extraordinary Citizens that work here are uncapable of your versatility and are needed on their projects that keep us working. - Hmm, I'll arrange a talk for you with Dr.Adams. He is in charge of the Q Divison.

DrSchmidt nods.

<DrSchmidt> Thank you, Sir.

DrSchmidt smiles contentedly. Now he'd only figure out a way how he'd get some piloting lessons someday, and everything was perfect.

<John_Andersen> (LOL)

John_Andersen leaves.

<John_Andersen> Goodbye, gentlemen

<DrSchmidt> Well, Goodbye.

John_Andersen is now known as Asm0dai

<Asm0dai> It is about 15 Enlightened Scientists that work for the Amalgam on maintenance and R&D. Niles and a few guys like him are used as troubleshooters. There are no real fixed Amalgams.

<DrSchmidt> 15 Enlightened Scientists, that's a helluvalot!

Niles_Powers is now known as fso

<DrSchmidt> *g* Niles was the silent observer again ^_^

fso raises his Arcane 3 card -_-

<DrSchmidt> Hehe.

fso is not the Operative you were looking for...
