ST - MrBoogedy

<ST> (ok, here goes)

<ST> -------------Summary of Briefing-----------------

<ST> Ranchers in southern Nevada, are presenting increasing numbers of strange reports. Cattle mutilations, disappearances, and sightings of unusual animal behavior are among the least of such reports.

* DrSchmidt and Agent_J sit in the office of their superior and listen intently.

<ST> Officials from various government facilities have performed perfunctory investigations, and deemed the majority of people as 'ignorant, country bumpkins'. The only information of any serious note, was a sighting, by Agent Harrison of the FBI, of 'the largest damn pack of wolves he had ever seen.'

* DrSchmidt raises an eyebrow, waiting for further elaborations on the subject.

* Agent_J 's eyes widen a bit

<ST> He managed to procure a picture, which was later displayed to Donald Richardson, Head of Animal Behavior research, at Berkeley institute.

<ST> The picture shows a grouping of canines, grouped upon a ridge, numbering at well over five hundred. The most unusual piece of informations, determined by Mr. Richardson, was the fact that at least one half of the canines were, in fact coyotes, and included even a smattering of foxes, and feral domesticated dogs.

<DrSchmidt> (mutters) I really don't like dogs...

<Agent_J> (mutters back) me neither

<ST> According to Mr. Richardson, this is a unique occurance, as far as the History of Animal Behavioral studies is concerned.

<DrSchmidt> (quietly) You could say that!

<Agent_J> *nods*

<ST> Grand-High-Uppity-Ups, in the Technocracy have reviewed the information, and believe that a cursory Paranormal Investigation is in order, with the possibility of Extermination, and or Cover Up, soon after.

<DrSchmidt> (looks at Agent_J) ...which brings us into the game, hm?

<Agent_J> indeed is does!

<ST> Of course, due to the Holiday season, and Vacation time, and a serious bought of Syphilis that seems to have spread rampantly through the personnel, staffing is limited at the moment. So, you're on your own, for the most part, boys. Enjoy.

* Agent_J grins

<DrSchmidt> Why, thank you, boss...

<Agent_J> we are honered!

* DrSchmidt sighs tragically. The best jobs *always* hit me, it seems

* Agent_J smiles enthousiastically

<ST> You will be provided with transportation to the Nevada area. Las Vegas, will be your landing point. A rental vehicle will then be available for your use, during the investigation.

* DrSchmidt looks at his superior

<DrSchmidt> What else does Research&Execution give us in new Devices for the investigation?

<ST> The metallic wall beside your superior's desk spins silently, to reveal an opposite side, decorated in a case of cushioned fabric.

<ST> The case wasn't the best part though, it was what lay inside....

* DrSchmidt goggles at the sight.

<DrSchmidt> Wow!

* Agent_J 's eyes widen a lot more

<ST> "Fusion-15 Backpack Laser". Self stored, rechargeable battery, heavy, but light enough to carry around.

<DrSchmidt> I read about this baby in the latest VoidTech News!

* Agent_J grabs it and feels how is weighs

<ST> Be careful with this baby, because they like to overheat, if used to much.

<DrSchmidt> Sure!

<Agent_J> will do!

* DrSchmidt takes the second of the F-15 BPLs

* DrSchmidt grins

<ST> "Nerve Impulse Grenades". Using a variant, electromagenetic pulse, acctuated to simulate a neural synapse, while operating as a field force, they overload the target's nervous system, rendering them paralytic, for a short duration.

<DrSchmidt> I *always* wantedd to try out one of those, but the Professor always told me I was more needed to educate other scientists...

<ST> They have an effective diameter range of 35 feet (10 meters or so, I believe)

<ST> A case of six, lies before you.

<DrSchmidt> Agent_J: You take 'em?

<Agent_J> sure!

<DrSchmidt> Agent_J: I'm not really good at throwing stuff...

* Agent_J closes case and picks it up

<Agent_J> me neither, but I'm a fast learner :)

<DrSchmidt> Agent_J: Then I'm relieved. I just hope we don't have to run around too much. I really should have done some more physical exercises...

<ST> Ok, Schmidt, you should like this....

<DrSchmidt> Yes, boss?

* DrSchmidt looks expectantly at his superior.

<ST> "External UNI"....if you are familiar with the original, then you already know about most of this baby's capabilities.

<ST> If not, I'll explain...

<DrSchmidt> I would be very grateful, just to be sure, boss... One never knows what R&E has been up to again...

<ST> The only difference in this, is that it has no need for an implant....of course, this model is still a prototype, and has a tendency to fail in odd ways, when near a high electro magnetic field.

<ST> Ok...if I understood them right, it goes something like this....

<ST> you can sort of 'hack' into any electronic device....tale over somone's blender, if you want. You just have to bare a few wires, and plug it in.

<ST> I thought it might come in handy, and the lab monkeys wanted it to go on a few field tests.

<DrSchmidt> That's truly swell! I always wanted to have something handy like this!

<ST> Ok boys, that's all I've got for you, in the toy department. Get your asses going, and give me a report, asap!

<Agent_J> Yes sir!

<DrSchmidt> Boss: Consider it done!

* Agent_J looks at Schmidt

<Agent_J> let's go then!

* DrSchmidt looks happily at his new toys, kind-of salutes and waves to Agent_J

<DrSchmidt> Yup. Gotta go!

* DrSchmidt and Agent_J get to Vegas without any problems. At the airport, a rental car awaits, a Mercury Mountaineer. Black, in traditional government agent colors.

* Agent_J looks at the rental

<DrSchmidt> Let's get into the car!

* DrSchmidt puts down his backpack with his things

<ST> The Black Mountaineer speeds along the desert highway, on a course for the home of Dirk Ackwater, a farmer who reported finding over fifty head of cattle, torn to pieces in his pasture. He also claimed to have been out in the same pasture, less than 1 hour earlier.

<DrSchmidt> Agent_J: Don't you have the eerie feeling that we are on the way into some weird bad horror movie?

<ST> FBI officials noted the man, an 'an imbecilic drunkard', and ignored his statements, for the most part.

<DrSchmidt> I think I saw something very similar in the cinema not long ago...

<DrSchmidt> We definitely have to figure out what's going on before the police does believe in such things

<DrSchmidt> It's way harder to cover up stuff on a wide scale when it is actally *believed*

<Agent-J> yes, let's step on it

<DrSchmidt> Do you have the map of the area? I only packed my PK meters and the electronic gear

<Agent-J> Check my bag, there should be a map in it

<ST> A little over 100 kilometers into the arid scrublands, the Ackwater home stand out like a pustulent sore on the skin of the Nevada desert. Trash, decaying automobiles, and broken fencing decorated the property in an absolute cornucopia, symbolic of intense poverty.

<DrSchmidt> Nicea area here

<Agent-J> yeah

<ST> It looked like the kind of house, that would have six platinum blond children, smudged with dirt, and staring hungrily with pale blue eyes.

<DrSchmidt> I really prefer Freiburg. I really wonder why I got called over the big pond!

* Agent-J tries to park on a mud-less area

* Agent-J looks at the house a bit more

<DrSchmidt> Hm... Shall we simply knock?

* Agent-J looks a Schmidt with a bit of a disgusted look

<ST> An emaciated, mangy dog of dubious ancestry huddled beneath a rusted old, Ford pickup.

<DrSchmidt> I'm not really fond of this idea either - but we have to start somewhere

<ST> An iron, rooster shaped weathervane protrudes from the top of the ford, spinning madly in the occasional arid gust.

<ST> It creaks as if it had never experienced the miracle of lubricants.

* Agent-J looks at dog, lookst at car, looks at Schmidt, looks at door

* DrSchmidt rumbles through his backpack and takes out his PK Meter

* Agent-J looks back at Schmidt

<DrSchmidt> (scan with Corr/DimSci/Forces/Life/Mind/Prime 1)

<Agent-J> what does the meter show?

* DrSchmidt frowns.

<DrSchmidt> I'm trying to interpret the readings...

* Agent-J tries to make sence of the meter, then leaves it to the doc

<ST> The readings on the PK meter indicate a lingering trace of paranormal energy, though its origins seem to be from some time past. It directional orientation is directly before you. In the same direction as the ramshackle, broken down home of mismatched pieces and poor construction.

<DrSchmidt> Agent_J: I'm reading a faint trace of paranormal activity from there!

* DrSchmidt points to the house

* Agent-J sighs

<DrSchmidt> Agent_J: The psychokinetic energies have mostly dissipated, though.

<Agent-J> well, lets go inside then

<DrSchmidt> I'll follow you

* Agent-J knocks softly one the door

* Agent-J thinks it may fall apart before him

* Agent-J listens

* DrSchmidt waits half behind Agent_J

<ST> A massive, dark, winged shape, circles in the azure sky above, creating a small eclipse of the sun at times.

* Agent-J 's head turns fast towards the sun

* Dirk_A grumbles and gets up from his breakfast of steak, eggs, and the remainder of last night fourty ounce beer.

* Agent-J shrugs and looks back at the door

<Dirk_A> God damn it, who the hell's comin' out here.

* Dirk_A raises his voice, as he unlocks the door.

<Dirk_A> You'd better not be no more damn tabloid folks. I'm about tired of you sons a bitches!

* Agent-J tries to look surprised

* Agent-J tries to smile to Dirk

<Dirk_A> ::The door opened to reveal, a hunched, potbellied man. His greasy hairline was receding and gray. A few days, to a week's worth of stubble collected tiny bits of his recent meal.

* DrSchmidt grimaces at the pretty stale air from within the hut hits his nostrils. He hates fried eggs and the smell of old beer

<DrSchmidt> Er, good day, Mr.....

<Dirk_A> He stood in his filthy boxers and an athletic tank top, of equally grimy persuasions, picking a small bit of steak, from between his teeth.

<Dirk_A> "Whaddya want?" he asked, flatly, removing the bit of steak, and popping it in his mouth to finish it.

<Agent-J> Agent Jay, sir. And this is my companion Dr Schmidt

<Dirk_A> Ain't got no agent jays here, man...what else you want?

<Dirk_A> ::The man seemed like he was quite an ass.::

<Agent-J> We're here to investigate your situation.

<DrSchmidt> Mr.Ackwater. We are government agents and would like to take some measurements...

* DrSchmidt points at his PK Meter

<Dirk_A> "You got a badge, or something...so's I know yer not some sneaky reporter?"

<DrSchmidt> We suspect some kind of contamination here

* DrSchmidt pulls out his card from Freiburg University, department for Parapsychology

<DrSchmidt> Here, Mr. I was contracted as specialist for the current problem

* Dirk_A glances briefly at the card, and nods as if he even knows what the hell it means

<Dirk_A> Ok, well, let me take you guys out back. I haven't cleaned up the mess yet. Can't afford to rentin' nor heavy equipment, this time of year.

<DrSchmidt> Well, Mr.Ackwater, we only need to get some good readings to evaluate the situation.

* Dirk_A walks out into the yard in his bare feet. One can only imagine the thickness of those callouses, as they gazed upon the yard, littered in screws, glass, metal shavings, and other bits of sharp stuff.::

<DrSchmidt> You know, there was this blip of psychokinetic energy I just encountered and I want to verify whether there are further sources of possible extradimensional leakage

<Dirk_A> I dunno what kind of readings yer talkin' about. None of the other guys said anything about that...but I'll show you what 'they' left behind...

<Dirk_A> ::As you round the house, you notice the the directional orientation of the reading, continues to point in the same direction.

*DrSchmidt and Agent_J follow Mr.Ackwater

<Dirk_A> ::As you crest the small knoll, you are treated to a rather unusual sight. The rotting carcasses of a hundred or so cattle, lay baking in the sun. of course, it is hard to count, with so many pieces being strewn here and there. A swarming mass of flies has collected on the remnants of degrading tissue, feasting in its pustulence.

* DrSchmidt swallows hard and tries not to breathe to deeply.

* DrSchmidt takes out a handkerchief and holds it over nose and mouth

* Agent-J looks at Schmidt and does the same

DrSchmidt directs his PK Meter at the carcasses and tries another general scan.

<Dirk_A> The reading seems to be strongest at this point.

<Dirk_A> It could be anywhere from 1 week, to ten days old.

<DrSchmidt> Obviously the psychokinetic energy is directly involved in the occurrence here.

* Dirk_A scrathces his greasy hair

<DrSchmidt> Mr.Ackwater, this is most peculiar indeed

<Dirk_A> "Sure, man...psychonititic ebergy...lots of that. I guessed that part too."

<DrSchmidt> Mr.Ackwater, so you ...sensed something ...peculiar, too?

<Dirk_A> "You know...they've been watching me...." he says, out of no where::

<Agent-J> they...?

<Dirk_A> "And they know Iknow...because I've been watching them..."

<DrSchmidt> Whom did you watch, Mr.Ackwater?

* Dirk_A turns to Dr Schmidt suddenly, his eyes seeming to nearly bug from their sockets, and sweat running down his forehead::

<Dirk_A> "The animals....they watch. They're always watching..."

<Dirk_A> "But I've been watching them..."

<Dirk_A> "I know which way they go, when they leave the farms...."

<DrSchmidt> But you did not watch this ...massacre with your own eyes, did you?

<Dirk_A> ::His eyes dart furiously and he wipes away sweat, with a grimy forearm::

<Dirk_A> "No...no...I didn't know, until they did this...

<Dirk_A> "I had no idea how smart they really were."

<DrSchmidt> I am sure this must have come as quite of a shock to you...

<Dirk_A> ::His eyes go almost vacant, as a very small part of his mind, actually realizes how much he has lost.::

<Dirk_A> "Yeah...yeah...it was a shock alright..." he trailed off.

* Agent-J prods Schmidt and whispers 'They?'

* DrSchmidt direkts the PK-Meter at Mr.Ackwater and adjusts it to a basic Mind scan (truth/lies)

<DrSchmidt> (whispers to Agent_J) I don't have the slightest clue!

* Agent-J puts on glasses and scans mr A's head to try and find who 'they' are

<Dirk_A> "You've gotta watch out....they're watching us right now...." he says, pointing up at the vulture, who now seemed to be circling much lower in the sky.

<snowball> Agent-J rolls the dice and gets the following results: 4 10 3

<Dirk_A> The vulture circles above. Your watch indicates that over 30 minutes have passed, The scan shows that Ackwater is telling the truth, to the extent of his knowledge, though various signals indicate minor dementia and reaccuring traces of intense paranoia.

* Agent-J points to the bird and whispers to Schmidt: Appearantly that's 'they'.

<DrSchmidt> Intriguing.

<Dirk_A> "No, no...not just that one...all of them....they are all around.."

* DrSchmidt points the PK-meter at the bird and scans

<snowball> DrSchmidt rolls the dice and gets the following results: 9 9 9

<Dirk_A> "LOOK, look, there's another!" he screams, pointing a few feet behind you.

* DrSchmidt whirls around.

<Dirk_A> A scorpion scuttles beneath an overturned picnic table, burrowing into the cool darkness.

* DrSchmidt takes a step back. Scorpions are poisonous, after all.

* Agent-J raises eyebrow

* Agent-J looks puzzled at Schmidt.

<DrSchmidt> Sorry, J. I don't take any chances with poisonous critters.

<Agent-J> I was puzzled at Mr A's reaction, not yours

<Dirk_A> ::As your PK meter tunes into the brainwave frequency of the bird, your display shows reading of mental fortitude, that register 'off the charts'. Emotional patterns of rage and madness register in erratic pattern, echoed by a slight hint of barely visible fear.

<DrSchmidt> J, we seem to have a problem at hand. The readings of this "bird" are way out of reasonable parameters

<Agent-J> indeed

* Agent-J looks at Dirk

<Agent-J> I think we should get him inside...

<Dirk_A> The bird corrects is flight path, straightening out, and heading of to the west, giving a racous cry, as it flies away.

<DrSchmidt> My guess is that some extradimensional entity took over these animals' brains and has them under some kind of remore control.

* Agent-J nods

<Dirk_A> At the same moment, a sleek, black helicopter rises over a distant redstone ridge.

* Agent-J tells Dirk: You'd better go inside sir.

<Dirk_A> The constant putter of its rotors growing louder by the second, it was apparent that it was moving at a tremendous rate of speed.

<Dirk_A> It was a good thing Mr Ackwater didn't know helicopters, or he might have guessed that the vehicle was moving well beyond the parameters of any known rotor driven flying machine.

* Agent-J escorts Dirk back inside slowly.

* Dirk_A follows J's orders, and get back inside his house, though he watches through a filthy widnow of plexiglass.

<Agent-J> I put Dirk in a chair and tells him to be calm, then I make him black out and faint

<DrSchmidt> J, I think we might get some reinforcement after all!

* DrSchmidt peers into the hut and sees that J has Dirk under control.

* DrSchmidt stays at the door to await the helicopter's landing.

* Agent-J joins Schmidt.

<DrSchmidt> I wonder whom they'll send, J. I think we could need someone with a bit knowledge about biomedicine... I'm not really into stuff like that, and here we seem to have a phenomenon that involves taking over biological entities...

<Dirk_A> ::The helicopter landed with a small torrent of blustering wind. From within, climbed another blck suited body::

* ProfBrock exits the chopper and taking out his shades and putting them on.

<ProfBrock> good afternoon gentlemen

<DrSchmidt> Good afternoon, Mr...?

<ProfBrock> Mr Brock

<ProfBrock> Matt Brock

<ProfBrock> could you bring me up to speed?

<DrSchmidt> Well, I'm Dr.Peter Schmidt, University of Freiburg, currently assigned to assist Agent J

<ProfBrock> yes i heard of some of your work

<ProfBrock> i am professor Matt Brock...

<DrSchmidt> Professor Brock... Yes, I think you published some outstanding essays, too

<ProfBrock> what is that Dr Schmidt?

<ProfBrock> you colleague?

<Dirk_A> Agent_J: You went inside with Dirk?

<Dirk_A> ok. The house is filthy. the tv blares a redneck show, called Hee Haw, and emopty beer cans litter nearly every surface.

<Dirk_A> The house is tiny, and seems to be a trailer, with poorly built extensions added on later

<Agent-J> okay, I put em in front of the TV, and let it look like he dozed off

<Dirk_A> A barchelounger sits in front of the tv, and a small, vinyl topped table and two chairs are in the kitchen. Other than that, there is no furniture in the two visible rooms.

<Dirk_A> The kitchen and living room have no separating wall.

<Dirk_A> roll PCP + Alertness, if you are still in the house

<Agent-J> !dice 4

<Agent-J> hmmm

<Dirk_A> in room, is fine

<Agent-J> 3 8 10 3

<Dirk_A> You see Dirk's eyes pop open. they look painfully blood shot.

<Dirk_A> He is rising quickly, from the chair, and beginning to yell in a very primal, animalistic gurgle...

<Dirk_A> (You two, roll PCP+ Alertness, diff 8)

<snowball> DrSchmidt rolls the dice and gets the following results: 1 9 9 3 10

<snowball> ProfBrock rolls the dice and gets the following results: 5 3 10

<Dirk_A> (Ok, you both hear a very primal, gurgling scream come from within the trailer.)

<Agent-J> okay, I'll shout to the others, but I see you make them roll

<Dirk_A> They might hear his scream

<Agent-J> ah, I see

<Agent-J> I try to make a Forces1/mind1 scan as best as possible

<Dirk_A> ok, hold on a sec

<Agent-J> (pity I removed Life 1 :( )

<Agent-J> 8,9,9 for the forces1/mind1 scan

<Dirk_A> You recognize the same thing as the bird.

<Agent-J> okay

* Agent-J screams GET IN HERE! from inside the house...

* DrSchmidt jumps into the house

* ProfBrock takes out his x-5 and runs after DrSchmidt

<Dirk_A> (I'm just going to say you guys get to see the first round happen, so everyone can be in the room at once)

<Dirk_A> (Inits, J)

<Dirk_A> !dice 1

<snowball> Dirk_A rolls the dice and gets the following results: 3

<Agent-J> !dice 1

<snowball> Agent-J rolls the dice and gets the following results: 8

<Dirk_A> <9>

<Agent-J> (my init is 14)

<snowball> Agent-J rolls the dice and gets the following results: 8 9 9

<Dirk_A> Mr Ackwater lunges toward you, attemping to grasp your throat.

<Dirk_A> (Make your action)

<ST> Agent J, you were in the first round, with Dirk, performing a mind scan. You encountered the same presence as that noted in the vulture.

<ST> Brock and DrSchmidt, you were coming through the door, in sight of the happenings of the first round

* Agent-J jells to the others: It's the same as the bird! while pointing to Dirk

* DrSchmidt point PK Meter at Dirk, taking new readings

<DrSchmidt> !dice 3

<snowball> DrSchmidt rolls the dice and gets the following results: 6 4 10

* ProfBrock loads up taser rounds into his x-5

<ST> Schmidt: You receive the same 'off the charts' readings as those found by J.

<ProfBrock> Schmidt, what does the scanner register?

<DrSchmidt> J, you are right. It's indeed the same here. The person is very likely taken over by some malevolent extradimensional entity.

<ProfBrock> So he should not be harmed. My taser bullets should bring him down without much harm to him.

<ST> Lunging for J's throat, the potbellied man continued to scream in that curdling primal yell. his severely bloodshot eyes bugged from his skull, and his nose began to bleed.

<ST> !dice 4

<snowball> ST rolls the dice and gets the following results: 9 5 10 6

* ProfBrock shoots the bastard with my X-5

<ST> He latches onto J's throat, squeezing with a preternatural might, for a man of his size and shape.

<ST> (Ok, inits please)

<Agent-J> !dice 1

<snowball> Agent-J rolls the dice and gets the following results: 9

<ProfBrock> !dice 1

<snowball> ProfBrock rolls the dice and gets the following results: 2

<ProfBrock> (mine is 8)

<Agent-J> (woohoo! 15)

<ST> <6>

<DrSchmidt> !dice 1

<snowball> DrSchmidt rolls the dice and gets the following results: 2

<DrSchmidt> <Init 9>

<Agent-J> !dice 5

<snowball> Agent-J rolls the dice and gets the following results: 10 8 8 6 8

<ST> Declare order : Dirk, DrSchmidt, Brock, J...

<DrSchmidt> (He isn't good at fighting. He's much better at dodging ^_^)

* Jacob_Edwards_M finally emerges from the copter, one hand trying to keep his white lab coat closed, the other clutching onto his black case, while not-quite-gracefully clambering down towards the others. (::not really in the init order this round:: )

* ProfBrock is using taser round in his x-5 so he does 5 bashing damage and the bullets do 5 bashing from electricity on the subsequent rounds

<ST> (Do you have a preference for this sort of thing?)

<Agent-J> (Me?)

<ProfBrock> (should i roll to hit or is it still J's action?)

<ST> (Well, all of you....if you all have a preference)

<ProfBrock> (for what?)

<ST> (It will be J's action, but he can use old roll.)

<Agent-J> (in my games we immediately play in out high to low init)

<ST> (For init method and declaration and such)

<ST> (We can do that, I don't mind at all)

<ProfBrock> (i'm up for that...)

<ST> (ok...go J)

<Agent-J> Okay, knee to the gut it is

<ST> (Then DrSchmidt)

<DrSchmidt> I'm feebly tugging at Dirk...

<ST> (Then Brock)

<ST> (Then Dirk)

<ST> (Damage, J?)

<Agent-J> (diff 6 for hitting, I presume?)

<ST> (I think a knee is 5)

<ST> (I like 5)

<Agent-J> (how much damage for a knee? Str + 1?)

<Agent-J> ( 6 or 5 doesn't matter luckely)

<ST> (Sure, Str+1)

<Agent-J> okay, so str+1 +4 is 7 dice...

<Agent-J> !dice 7

<snowball> Agent-J rolls the dice and gets the following results: 8 7 1 2 2 5 1

<Agent-J> ACK!

<ST> (Laughs....bummer)

<Agent-J> (no damage :( )

<DrSchmidt> (doesn't try to do damage anyway, just tries to get that bully away from J ^_^)

* ProfBrock closes the distance and shoots the raving man in the back with his X-5

<ST> (+2dmg or -2 diff, or something, for point blank range)

<Agent-J> -2 dif

<Jacob_Edwards_M> (It's -2 diff.)

<Jacob_Edwards_M> (yeah)

<ST> (k)

<ProfBrock> !dice 5

<snowball> ProfBrock rolls the dice and gets the following results: 4 6 7 6 1

<ProfBrock> now for damage (taser is bashing)

<Agent-J> (??)

<ST> ...6?

<ProfBrock> -2 for point blank, no?

<Agent-J> (4 suc??)

<Agent-J> (you got a 1)

<ProfBrock> (ahaha sorry )

<ST> (Not on the dmg roll, I don't think)

<Agent-J> (that cancels the 7, so 3 suc)

<ProfBrock> !dice 7

<snowball> ProfBrock rolls the dice and gets the following results: 1 9 4 5 2 10 4

<ProfBrock> (that's 2 bashing and on the 2 subsequent rounds it deals 5 bashing)

<ST> (k)

<Agent-J> (last time I checked 1's count on damage rolls, right?)

<ST> Dirk twicthes for a brief moment, his eyelids fluttering. Unfortunately it just seems to tighten his grip more, for the moment. (yes)

<ProfBrock> (nope... they don't

<ST> (No botch, though)

* DrSchmidt decides better to keep out of the way of the fighting

<ProfBrock> (as don't 10's for specialties)

<ST> (eh?)

<DrSchmidt> (I would only be in the way, I guess)

<ST> (Ok, we can go with that)

<ProfBrock> (on damage rolls 1's are only fails... allways)

<Agent-J> (the example in Vampire counts 1 in damage, but sure you cannot botch, that I know)

<ST> (but no suxx is removed?)

<ProfBrock> (no sux removed)

<DrSchmidt> (I don't have fireguns or brawl or melee and Strength 1)

<ST> (I know there is no botch on soak and dmg, but I thought 1's still removed suxx)

<Agent-J> (sux ARE removed in the Vampire damage roll example... *confused*)

<ST> (That is fine...1 are just fails, as far as this will go)

<ProfBrock> (nope... 1's don't work at all in damage and soaks)

<Agent-J> (wait, I'm going to check! I really need to know now)

<Jacob_Edwards_M> ( ... I'm so close to whipping out the bottle of Grey Goose.)

<ST> (Lol, ok...anyway)

<ST> !dice 5

<snowball> ST rolls the dice and gets the following results: 5 9 1 8 2

<ST> <1>

<ST> !dice 7

<snowball> ST rolls the dice and gets the following results: 2 3 9 2 4 8 2

<ST> <2> Bashing

<ST> (J, you notice the man really does seem to be getting stronger)

* DrSchmidt decides to take out the Fusion-15 Backpack Laser, just to be sure

* ST is now leaking blood from ech orifice of his body, the flow becoming steadily stronger, as the seconds pass.

<ST> (lagging)

* DrSchmidt points the Fusion-15 at Dirk.

<DrSchmidt> Guys, better get cover ^_^

<ProfBrock> (hmmm i think now it's time for the rounds to work their stuff)

<ProfBrock> !dice 5

<snowball> ProfBrock rolls the dice and gets the following results: 10 7 10 5 9

<ST> (J is in the man's grasp....)

<ProfBrock> (cool 4 more bashing from the tasers :))

<DrSchmidt> (uh-oh)

<ST> (You are lucky that hit was so good)

<ST> (J, you will recieve 10% of any dmg, as heat backlash)

<ST> (it will count as fire dmg, or Agg, in any event)

<ProfBrock> ok Schmidt's time :)

<DrSchmidt> (does that guy still strangle J?)

<ST> (Yup)

<ProfBrock> (even after the 4 more damge from the tasers?)

<DrSchmidt> (if yes he'd get enough damage by that in time, too)

<ST> (wait a sec)

<DrSchmidt> (can I shoot past J?)

<DrSchmidt> (doesn't want to pull a Hellsing here)

<ST> (ok, ok...sorry, got confused there...I need to make some rolls.)

<ST> (Brock, you were making a dmg roll, for taser, right?)

<ProfBrock> (yes for the electricity effect)

<ST> (Ok, all that about agg dmg and stuff, I meant for the Laser. lol)

<Agent-J> (back)

<ST> !roll-dice 6

<ProfBrock> (LOL :))

<DrSchmidt> J: Can you turn that I get free shot at that guy?

<ST> !dice 6

<snowball> ST rolls the dice and gets the following results: 2 5 1 3 9 8

<ST> <2 soak on taser attack for this round.>

<ST> <He is still up and strangling J. The pain doesn't seem to be having much of an effect, thought he is sagging a bit now>

<ST> (Ok, Schmidt, please)

<Agent-J> (could not find it this fast... But I know that 1's cancel out successes in ALL rolls, but damage roll cannot botch (no sux but with 1's))

<DrSchmidt> (Okay, aiming with Dex 5, Energy Weapons 2)

<ST> (Is fine, for this battle, or even the whole game, it doesn't really matter, as long as everyone gets it.)

<DrSchmidt> !dice 7

<snowball> DrSchmidt rolls the dice and gets the following results: 5 3 1 3 8 2 5

<DrSchmidt> Uh-oh

<ProfBrock> (J damage & soak rolls are unefected by the rule of 1)

<ST> (Roll 1 more die for me....Odds, you hit J, evens and the gun simply backfires, rendering it useless for 1-10 rnds)

<DrSchmidt> !dice 1

<snowball> DrSchmidt rolls the dice and gets the following results: 3

<Agent-J> (I did find the soak example in Vampire, and there they make 1's remove successes. That's 100% sure)

<Agent-J> (it's under applying bashing damage)

<ST> (Bummer, J.....)

<ST> (You've been hit)

<Agent-J> !dice 3

<snowball> Agent-J rolls the dice and gets the following results: 4 9 6

* DrSchmidt really should keep out of open fights ^_^

<Agent-J> (2 soaked)

<ST> <2 Agg, J>, from the laser

<ProfBrock> (yes i see it now... we are playing with house roll on no 1 in damage & soak at my place since a long time ago... and i didn't remember ... sorry J)

<ST> <Ok, so are we back to using 1's?>

<ST> (I am letting you four decide)

<Agent-J> (okay no problem, I was really doubting myself)

<Agent-J> (anyway, what type of damage was I trying to soak???)

<ST> <Agg>

<DrSchmidt> Well, as our house rules for fights are *totally* different, I go with what you decide

<ST> (Laser damage)

<Agent-J> (ouch, so no soak it is, forgot armor :( )

<ST> (Shit, ok, we will use the 1's, but still no botches on dmg and soak)

<ST> The laser misfires, striking Agent J and searing a short hashmark arcoss his shoulder blade, and ruining his suit.

<Agent-J> ( okay, so I have 3 agg on my health chart now... right?)

<DrSchmidt> Sorry, J ^_^

<Agent-J> (ouch!)

<ST> The skin bubbles and cracks, scorching away, as the laser burn into his flesh

<ST> <2 Agg>

* Agent-J yells: Not me! HIM!

<ProfBrock> me winces and shoot the good damn thing again

* ProfBrock winces and shoot the good damn thing again

<ProfBrock> !dice 5

<snowball> ProfBrock rolls the dice and gets the following results: 2 3 6 5 4

<DrSchmidt> J: I'm a scientist, not a HITMark!

<snowball> ProfBrock rolls the dice and gets the following results: 6 7 7 5 1 6 4 4

<ProfBrock> (that's 3 bashing)

<ST> !dice 6

<snowball> ST rolls the dice and gets the following results: 1 9 1 7 5 1

<ST> Dirk finally lets, go, falling to the ground with a sigh, as the electrical pulsing overrides his nervous system

<ProfBrock> the boogieman i down

<ST> His body looks as if it is somehow degrading rapidly, blood is pouring from every hole and even leaking from pores.

<ProfBrock> do we have a biologist on the team?

<ST> (Enter, Jacob....stage left)

<DrSchmidt> Brock: I hoped you were one when you arrived

<ProfBrock> i am a mathamatician not a doctor

* Agent-J kicks Dirks leg. "Ha!"

<ProfBrock> stop that agaent J

<DrSchmidt> I'm a Parapsychologist, sorry 'bout that

* Jacob_Edwards_M finally reaches the scene, cracking open the case he is carrying. He is shaking his head - pathetic. A syringe is produced, and he begins to prod past the rubber cherries of his various bottles, preparing a proper take-down serum. "I'm a biologist - just give me a minute!"

<ST> Your foot sinks into soft, rotting flesh, sliding the skin off of the muscle, and trailing a line of ooze....

<ProfBrock> aah Dr. Edwards

* Agent-J grabs his arm... "sorry"

<ProfBrock> Dr Edwards was joining me on my chopper ride

<ProfBrock> but he had some stomach problems from the ride

<ProfBrock> Dr Edwards... what is with this... ummm... whatever...

<Jacob_Edwards_M> !dice 3

<snowball> Jacob_Edwards_M rolls the dice and gets the following results: 10 10 2

<ST> (oooh)

<ProfBrock> (good :))

<Jacob_Edwards_M> !dice 2

<snowball> Jacob_Edwards_M rolls the dice and gets the following results: 9 2

<Jacob_Edwards_M> <total 4 sx>

* Jacob_Edwards_M he looked up to Agent Jay, with the expression of a disproving father. "Come here, boy, let me take a look at that wound."

* Agent-J walks to Jacob

* DrSchmidt looks a bit embarassed

<Jacob_Edwards_M> "Now, it's going to feel just like this," he said, and gently pinches the man's fingertip. He then jabs the syringe into the man's shoulder like he is a freaking pin cushion, and watches the chemicals shoot in deep.

<ProfBrock> Dr... Agent J will live... but this thing on the floor seems to be falling apart...

<ST> (Anyone have Eidetic Memory?)

* DrSchmidt puts away the Fusion-15 and uses his PK-meter again on the remains on the floor

<ProfBrock> (nope)

<DrSchmidt> (nope)

<Agent-J> (not here)

<ProfBrock> i crouch and check the body for lifesigns

<Jacob_Edwards_M> I assure you, sir, that whatever it is requires diagnostic tests that I could not perform here regardless. So allow me to take care of this man, and I will procure a sample to examine once we return to a proper lab.

<Jacob_Edwards_M> <J's damage healed.>

* Agent-J thanks Jacob very much

<ST> (PCP +....Investigation, please...diff...8, for Schmidt and J)

<DrSchmidt> !dice 4

<snowball> DrSchmidt rolls the dice and gets the following results: 7 7 9 10

<DrSchmidt> (heh)

<Agent-J> !dice 5

<snowball> Agent-J rolls the dice and gets the following results: 7 7 3 3 8

<ProfBrock> !dice 4

<snowball> ProfBrock rolls the dice and gets the following results: 2 5 6 2

<ST> (Schmidt, you remember the vulture from earlier, and the fact that it took off to the west, after the PK scan of its brain)

<DrSchmidt> Ok.

<DrSchmidt> Hm... Remember this ugly bird we saw?

<Agent-J> Yeah...

* ProfBrock crouches over the body on the floor and checks its status

* Jacob_Edwards_M The syringe s replaced into the tiny holding compartment in his case, and he takes out a fresh one, alongside a vial, before approaching the half-melted body. He kneels down beside it, and takes a large sample, which is carefully ejected into the vial.

<DrSchmidt> I scanned it and right after it flew away towards the west... Maybe that could be a clue?

<ST> ::The remnants of Dirk have melted and rotted into nothing but a crumbling skeleton and a pile of oozing meat like pudding::

<ST> (The two newcomers were told that Schmidt would brief them on the mission...they just came back from Holiday vacation)

<ProfBrock> i look for my bullets in the mass and try to look at their condition

<ST> (There are also further supplies onboard the chopper, though mostly mundane stuff)

<Jacob_Edwards_M> "...I'll run what tests I can, but I make no promises. 70% of Diagnosis is patient history, and... well, I hardly know anything of this man's prior symptoms. Suffice to say, the easiest mystery to solve will be how to clean this mess up."

<ST> ::The bullets are severely mushroomed, moreso than if they had entered a vat of ballistic gelatin::

<ProfBrock> hmmm does my education tell me anthing on what happened to them?

<ST> (Whatever they hit, had more stopping power than balaistic gelatin....)

<ProfBrock> interesting...

* Agent-J looks at 'Dirk' and goes "Eeewwww"

<ProfBrock> it seems he turned into an elastic gooey liquid

<Agent-J> Anyone care to guess what 'it' is, or was...?

<ProfBrock> Dr. Edwards, could you collect some samples and take them to the chopper?

* DrSchmidt PK-meters the remains

<DrSchmidt> !dice 3

<snowball> DrSchmidt rolls the dice and gets the following results: 9 1 2

<ProfBrock> i am not sure if i want to know

<Jacob_Edwards_M> "Should I give you a reward for pointing out the obvious?" said the elderly doctor, in response fo the Professor. His other hand liftd, demonstrating the samples he'd already taken off of the body. "We should perhaps return to the lab... I am rather sure that I and my assistants can culture these remains... if we are willing to take that much time from our investigation."

<ST> The PK meter shows a strong lingering essence of paranormal origins, though it is obvious that whatever left the resonance is now gone.::

<ProfBrock> hmmm... you should send it on the chopper to your assistants and we should follow up on the clues here

* DrSchmidt sighs

<ST> (I tell youy guy what...for the most part, simply assume your simple Level 1 Spheres work without a roll. I will let you know, if I want one.)

<DrSchmidt> Nothing new - again this weird psychokinetic energy residues

* ProfBrock winces and goes out to the chopper

<ProfBrock> (what is in the chopper equipment wise?)

* Agent-J follows Brock

* Jacob_Edwards_M his back straightened, and his arthritic shoulders pressed backwards. "Those operations are too difficult for mere assistants. I suppose we should just continue on in blithe ignorance." He followed the Professor to the chopper, climbing in slowly, grunting a bit.

* Agent-J doesn't want to stay another second in that house.

* DrSchmidt follows suit

<ST> (Common, yet sleek and stylish headset radios. The ak-47's, with 200 rnds of ammo. Four 12 gauge, pump shotguns, also 200 rounds. 1/2 kilo of C-4 explosive, and 2 radio detonators.)

<ProfBrock> Dr Edwards are you sure there aren't any field tests you could check right now, right here with the equipment on board the chopper.

* Agent-J grabs a 12 gauge

<ProfBrock> (PSG-1 Heckler & Koch Sniper rifle)

<ST> (...suuuuurrre...)

<ST> (Why not.)

<ProfBrock> (mundane tech)

<Jacob_Edwards_M> "Oh, preliminary tests of course, but nothing so thorough as I'd like..." he sighed, and re-opened his case. Taking out the sample he'd gathered, he began to work on the equipment there; more than slightly pissed off that he was forced to work in such squalid conditions. How did anyone expect him to get accurate results in such environs?

<ST> (yeah, it is fine)

* DrSchmidt looks at the weapons and shakes his head. Not for him...

<ProfBrock> (thx)

* Agent-J grabs a dozen rounds for the 12 gauge

* ProfBrock grabs a PSG-1 and 3 clips

* ProfBrock checks the sight & the laser pointer on the rifle

<ST> A case of 6 concussion grenades. 10 Bashing, -1, for every 2 meters of distance away from center, if they are not listed in book.

<ST> Titanium allow handcuffs, 6 pair. Str 8 or higher, to break.

* ProfBrock rummages the hold for any special ammo rounds for the PSG & X-5's

<ST> alloy*

* DrSchmidt hopes the others know how to use this stuff. He is mainly a scholar, after all.

<ProfBrock> (that uses laser cannons? :))

<DrSchmidt> Brock: That's experimental - and I love experiments ^_^

<ST> 50 Rounds of 'universal' incendiary ammo....let's say it is a level 1 Gadget...

<ProfBrock> what is their weight?

<ST> For Which item?

<Agent-J> We're going hunting for these critters then?

<ProfBrock> incendiaries

<ST> (x1.5 that of regular ammo)

* ProfBrock turns around grim & gaunt...: Yes... we need to know what does things are and get a specimen to analyze, so the good doctor here won't buzz anymore)

<DrSchmidt> Well, I guess we should move west then and find any more traces of these beasties.

<ST> The last item in the copter, is a case with an additional 1/2 dozen grenades, of various design....

<ST> 1: and 2: DMSO grenades...any chemical can be injected into the canister, and will then mix with DMSO, to create instant entry of the substance into target's skin.

<ProfBrock> (ok i put the PSG on my shoulder and take some tranquiliser rounds

<ST> 3, 4: Thermite Grenades.....10 Agg, at diff9 to soak (if possible), to all in a 10 meter radius

<ProfBrock> that is a bit too much killing power... at least for me

* DrSchmidt checks the charges of the Fusion-1

<ST> 5, 6, Tremor Mines.....creates violent shaking of all earth in a 20 meter raduis various effects, therof.

<ST> (You might not need it all, I just liked listing it. :) )

<Jacob_Edwards_M> ( he lies! He lies! )

<Agent-J> Shall we move?

* DrSchmidt shrugs. Well... What else should we do?

<ProfBrock> ok

<ST> (The grenades are mostly for when you 'don't' want to fight...so you can kill them all and walk away)

<DrSchmidt> Hm. I guess I like the grenades after all ^_^

* Agent-J sits down in the chopper and tells the pilot which way to go.

<ProfBrock> DrSchmidt where did you last see those "vultures" ?

<Agent-J> above here, going to the west.

<DrSchmidt> Well, when we were outside the house

<Agent-J> I was with Schmidt

<DrSchmidt> Not long ago, that is

<ProfBrock> hmmm okay... let's go in that direction...

<ProfBrock> Dr Edwards, do you wish to join us or will you go with the chopper back to base?

* Jacob_Edwards_M Edwards leans out of the coptor, not looking at all pleased. "From all that the computer can ascertain, the subject is... human. Unerringly, absolutely, human."

<Pilot> "Sorry, chums, but I have to get this back to hq, before the power cells run out...you're on your own from here."

<DrSchmidt> Human?

* Jacob_Edwards_M picking up his case, he clambered out of the helicopter, his old joints protesting every step. "Quite so."

<ProfBrock> well acording to J's description he was human before starting to attack him

<ProfBrock> Dr Edwards, do you wish to join us or will you go with the chopper back to base?

* DrSchmidt shoulders his backpack and Fusion-15

* Agent-J climbs out the chopper and walks to the rental car

* Agent-J takes all his gear with him

<ProfBrock> Doc?

<Agent-J> (with how many are we now anyway?)

<DrSchmidt> 4

<ST> (Sorry guys, but the copter would be ...'too'...handy, : ) )

<DrSchmidt> (ST: Bah)

<ST> : )

<ProfBrock> (who cares :))

<ST> (truuuuuuuussssttt meeeeee)

* Agent-J takes the drivers seat

<DrSchmidt> (Lol)

<Agent-J> coming people?

<Jacob_Edwards_M> " I shall be joining you. Oh, the body's completely human... it seems to have been irradiated by something or other; likely whatever expulsion of force caused it to decay. However, due to the use of lasers, it's impossible to tell just what force and heat was applied to it; the two have confused the diagnostic

<DrSchmidt> I'm waiting

<Jacob_Edwards_M> testing for one another."

* ProfBrock sits next to J and places his PSG between the two passanger seats

<ProfBrock> in that case let's go west

<Jacob_Edwards_M> "I'm too old for this. I need some cold beer, some warm thighs, and a triple-X sized bottle of viagra," murmured the surly old doctor, as he joined them in the car.

* DrSchmidt grins at Edwards

* Agent-J checks the car

<Agent-J> everyone inside?

<ST> ::The highway heads west, across the barren scrublands of Nevada. About an hour later, or so, you crest a small rise, and see a brief point of lights, a few miles to the north, before the roadway drops down between the hills.

<ProfBrock> Doc and i want to be back in my office at the collage sleeping...

<Jacob_Edwards_M> "Bah, you nancy... Look at me. You see these grey hairs, here? This one, this one's called Pension Plan. And this one over here, Progenitor-Owned Uber-Viagra. C'mon, count the hairs with me; I've got one for every retirement bonus I've earned..."

<ProfBrock> ... that would be a total of 3?

<Jacob_Edwards_M> "You didn't count the hairs on my balls, boy. That makes four."

<ProfBrock> ... i don't want to check

<ProfBrock> (LOL Jay :))

<Jacob_Edwards_M> "Too bad, I thought you had the makings of a Priest in ya'."

<Jacob_Edwards_M> ( :: grins :: )

<ProfBrock> you are an old lecher are ye?

<ST> A mile or so later, a rather small offshoot of the highway turned north as well. A roadsign displayed the town's name. "Copperhead population: 643" though the numbers have been scratched out and replaced with a large, dark brown '0'::

<ST> ::That, and it is hard to read, around the dead dog, that is nailed in front of the sign....:

<ProfBrock> ... but i fo have the Makings of A Preacher...

<ProfBrock> who the heck?

<ProfBrock> somebody thought he was funny...

<DrSchmidt> Hm. Dead dog? How charming.

<ST> The hour is getting late...nigh on to seven o' clock, and beginning to turn twilight, even in this southern, desert area...

<Agent-J> okay, people... plan?

<DrSchmidt> What about dinner?

<ProfBrock> we go in and check in with the local authorities

<ST> (I assume for now, that you are stopped at the intersection?)

<ProfBrock> see if anyone knows what is happening around here

<Agent-J> (yeah)

<DrSchmidt> I'm getting hungry

<ProfBrock> We can take a break over in the inn and go hunt vultures in the morning

* Agent-J looks at the others

<Agent-J> what about you guys?

<DrSchmidt> My idea exactly

<ProfBrock> ok let's head in.. i do have the authority here...

<Agent-J> okay chief!

<Jacob_Edwards_M> (Sorry, back)

*** ST is now known as Sgt-Collie

* Agent-J drives to the inn

<Sgt-Collie> (Ok, hold up a sec)

<DrSchmidt> ProfBrock: You have the authority now?

* DrSchmidt grins. Great.

<Sgt-Collie> ::As you turn off onto the smaller roadway, you resume you previous highway speeds, attempting to get to the town, before it gets to late.

<ProfBrock> yes... but i will refer to you on the paranormal effects since i am not the expert

<Sgt-Collie> (PCP+Alert...diff...8)

<Sgt-Collie> (everyone)

<DrSchmidt> !dice 5

<Agent-J> !dice 4

<snowball> Agent-J rolls the dice and gets the following results: 3 10 3 6

<Sgt-Collie> (Ok, anyone who got a suxx, spots a motorcyle, half buried in the sand, about 2 hundred meters off the road, to the right)

<ProfBrock> J stop over

* Agent-J pulls up next to the motorcycle

<ProfBrock> (what do we see)

<Jacob_Edwards_M> "Is that a teletubby?" murmured the good Doctor, as he peered out the window. "..Hm, dead and buried in the sand... appropriate, I say."

<Sgt-Collie> (You drive off the road?)

<ProfBrock> (on the road)

<Sgt-Collie> (ok)

<Sgt-Collie> You see the handlebars of a motorcyle, revealed by the blowing sands, a good distance off the road.

<ProfBrock> hmmm

<ProfBrock> J join me

<ProfBrock> Dr Edwards, take the wheel

<ProfBrock> in case we need backup

<ProfBrock> go right over

<DrSchmidt> Shall I come with you?

<ProfBrock> everyone activate their comlinks

* DrSchmidt points at the Fusion-15

<ProfBrock> wait here, Doc.

<Jacob_Edwards_M> "Oh, uh, gladly." He coughed, and scooted over to the driver's seat.

<ProfBrock> but be ready just in case

<ProfBrock> J take the shotgun. I won't be taking the rifle since there isn't any obvious use... Let's go

* ProfBrock opens the doors and exits toward the cycle

* DrSchmidt decides to try & provide cover, just in case

<ProfBrock> wait in the car DOc

<ProfBrock> no need to take unnecessary risks

<DrSchmidt> Prof: I am still in the car

<ProfBrock> Edwards will step on it and get you to us if we need any help

<DrSchmidt> Brock: Just pointing the Fusion-15 out of the window.

* ProfBrock & J walk towards the bike

<Sgt-Collie> As you approach the motorcycle, the wind kicks up a bit, spraying sand all about, in a slightly bilnding whirl.

<Sgt-Collie> Once within ten or fifteen meters, you note the shape of a canine, beside a cactus, not far past the bike...maybe 25 meters or so.

* ProfBrock rises his hand toward his eyes just to notice that he still has his shades on

* Jacob_Edwards_M craned his neck around "You know what the best part about being old is? The youngun's get to do all the dangerous jobs." Opening his case, he took out one of his home-brewed tranqs and his X-5. He set to work on special-brewing his tranq; he had a feeling he'd need it today.

<Sgt-Collie> The bike itself is mostly buried, though the mounding of sand gave the impression that its burial had been intentional.

* ProfBrock crouches by the bike and checks it out

<ProfBrock> (Doc Ed, you do have my PSG on the backseat :))

<ProfBrock> (with elephant tranqs :))

<Sgt-Collie> A mint condition Harley, before its burial...a limited edition, even. Must have cost at least 40k.

<ProfBrock> is it in working condition or wrecked?

<Sgt-Collie> It is buried...hard to start a buried bike...

<Sgt-Collie> Dig it out?

<ProfBrock> i just dust a bit off the top

<Sgt-Collie> Nothing you can see is broken, let me put it that way.

<ProfBrock> hmmm why would anyone put a this expensive bike out here?

<Sgt-Collie> Removal of the gas cap, shows that it has at least 10 litres of gas left.

<Agent-J> Is there any sign of goo?

<Sgt-Collie> no goo

<ProfBrock> hmmm

<ProfBrock> J help me with this

<Agent-J> (any signs of recent damage?

* Agent-J helps Brock

<Sgt-Collie> (Nope, from what you can see, the bike is fine, but you only see the top of seat/tank and handlebars)

<Jacob_Edwards_M> !dice 9

<snowball> Jacob_Edwards_M rolls the dice and gets the following results: 8 6 6 7 5 9 8 7 4

* ProfBrock & J dig the bike out

* Agent-J starts digging

* ProfBrock takes care to see if it is trapped

<Sgt-Collie> (K)

<Sgt-Collie> (No traps)

<Agent-J> (how hard is the digging?)

<Sgt-Collie> The coyote begins to slink forward slowly, at times growling, and at others, whimpering.

<Sgt-Collie> (4 rounds, with 2 or you, and no tools)

<ProfBrock> (where is the coyote)

<Sgt-Collie> 25 meters past you, on other side of bike, from vehicle)

<ProfBrock> (it is doing what?)

* Agent-J uses the back end of the 12 gauge to move away the sand a bit more

<Sgt-Collie> (Slinking forward, very slowly, both growling and whimpering)

<Sgt-Collie> (Reduce time by 1 round, for using the shotgun as shovel)

* ProfBrock continues digging, looking at the dog

<Sgt-Collie> The coyote is now 15 meters away, it bared teeth drip saliva, as it curls its lip.

* Agent-J keeps the gun in hand in such a way that it can be fired immedeately

* ProfBrock speaks into the comlink: Edwards... tranquilise the dog with the rifle

* Agent-J whispers guys....?

<Sgt-Collie> It freezes for a moment, and actually backs away, though appearing as if it were a house dog, pulling against its collar.

<Sgt-Collie> 2 more rounds, now, we'll say...

* ProfBrock Edwards wait... keep him in your sights

<Sgt-Collie> The engine of the bike is showing, as well as the tops of the wheels.

* DrSchmidt takes out the PK-Meter and scans the coyote

* Jacob_Edwards_M tsking, he loaded one of his tranqs into the rifle, and set it's barrel onto the windowframe of the door to steady. Lining up the sight, he had it ready to fire at the canine, if it shold act up.

* Agent-J digs out the rear wheel first

<Jacob_Edwards_M> (distance in yards from car to canine?)

<Sgt-Collie> The PK meter shows rating similar to those of the vulture, though less powerful than those of Mr Ackwater's...

<Sgt-Collie> about 150

<Sgt-Collie> 250*

<DrSchmidt> (through Comlink) Well, this coyote has the same problem as the vulture before

* ProfBrock yells hit him edwards!

<Sgt-Collie> (The two by bike, PCP+Alertness, please)

<Jacob_Edwards_M> And he let off a shot.

<Agent-J> (can I ride the bike with drive 2??)

<DrSchmidt> I could fry him, too...

<Sgt-Collie> (Yes)

<Jacob_Edwards_M> <12 Bashing>

<Sgt-Collie> The dart sinks home, causing the creature to yelp madly and spin in a circle, biting at its ass, for a brief moment, before immediately falling into a pile on the ground

<ProfBrock> ok

<Jacob_Edwards_M> "Should've seen me before I had the arthritis..."

<ProfBrock> it is down

<Sgt-Collie> (Schmidt, make a PK roll)

<ProfBrock> let to doc look it over

<DrSchmidt> !dice 3

<snowball> DrSchmidt rolls the dice and gets the following results: 7 3 5

<ProfBrock> J take the dog and take him to the car; let the doc look it over.

* Agent-J walks to the dog

<Sgt-Collie> (as the dog fell, you noticed that all but lingering traces of paranormal energy fled the body)

<Agent-J> (what does the dog look like?)

<Sgt-Collie> (A standard coyote)

<Agent-J> (no goo?)

<Sgt-Collie> (With a dart in its ass)

<DrSchmidt> As soon as the animal went down, the paranormal energies subsided.

<Sgt-Collie> (Nope, no goo)

<ProfBrock> i dig out the bike

* Agent-J drags the dog to the car

* ProfBrock talks in the comlink... Doc could you make some more of those?

<DrSchmidt> My hypothesis is that the psychokinetic manifestation needs a working subject to materialise...

<Sgt-Collie> (ok...if you clean out all of the sand from working parts, it will run fine...no keys, though)

<ProfBrock> i look around for any clues of why it was dug in

<Sgt-Collie> (of course...you have that experimental, External UNI...::hint, hint::)

<Sgt-Collie> On the bike, you find a small, black diary, in the 'saddle bags'

* Jacob_Edwards_M The good doctor emerged from the car, taking his case with him. Giving a glance to J, he grunted, "To the trunk... I can work on the trunk." Speaking back into the comlink, then, "Ah, Professor, I see you like my little concoctions? I've three more that you all can use if you like... I prefer not too mix up too many at once."

<ProfBrock> i take a look

<DrSchmidt> (does the bike have a computer?)

<ProfBrock> (LOL)

<Sgt-Collie> (No, but a UNI doesn't need one)

<DrSchmidt> Well, I should stay in the car, remember... Can't see much from here ^_^

<Agent-J> (okay, small check! We have 1 or 2 cars???)

<ProfBrock> i look in the saddlebags and take out the bike

<ProfBrock> (1)

<Sgt-Collie> (That is what it does...allows hacking on a non-computer operated device, with elctronics.)

<Sgt-Collie> (1 car, Mercury Mountaineer)

<Agent-J> (oh wait, I misread trunk as truck, sorry

* Agent-J puts dog on the trunk

<DrSchmidt> Prof, may I take a look, too?

<Sgt-Collie> The diary is from a man known as Phillip Stevenson...one or two of you might recognize him as a prize winning author...he wrote stuff about the American people and lots of heart felt stories.

* ProfBrock sas no problem with that doc...

<DrSchmidt> (is a dutiful technocrat who follows the superior's orders to the letter ^_^)

<ProfBrock> just watch it for any surprises

* ProfBrock looks at the saddlebags and takes the diary out

<Jacob_Edwards_M> "Of course, of course, come alone. I plan on cutting it open, though..." He waggled his brows, and came to J, at the back of the truck. He opened the hatch, and the half-door on the back fell outwards. "Set it down there."

<Jacob_Edwards_M> come along.

* DrSchmidt gets out of the car, shoulders the Fusion-15 and takes out the UNI, while putting the PK meter back at the belt

<Sgt-Collie> In the diary, are various notes...it seemed the man was travelling across the country, researching stuff for his next novel.

<ProfBrock> what was he researching... and is there any trace of him round here)

<DrSchmidt> So, please let me take a look...

<Sgt-Collie> He has many notes of things in his story, like the mention of a small town called Bakersville, and the old women who work in the laundromat...

<Sgt-Collie> No trace of him

* Jacob_Edwards_M - Opening his case, he set it down beside the dog. "J, rip off a sleeve or something.... I'll teach you how to do make-shift muzzles, and how to keep coyote's from ripping doctor's faces off."

* Agent-J moves away and looks around as like guarding the car and stuff

* DrSchmidt attaches the UNI to some applicable part...

<Agent-J> I'm not ruining this suit!

<Agent-J> wait

<Sgt-Collie> All of the notes are of touchy, feely instances of american life, mostly in poverty striken areas of the midwest farming community

<DrSchmidt> (so what do you want me to roll for that tingy?)

<ProfBrock> hmmm i take a look at the last entries

* Agent-J grabs some fabric from the rear and gives it to Jacob

<Sgt-Collie> ::Baring a couple of ignition wires, you attach the UNI. Those nanite thingies create an interface connection, allowing you control over all electronic functions.)

<Sgt-Collie> (Shit, I don't remember what I posted...Arete, vs Diff 7)

<DrSchmidt> (can I figure out when it was last working etc?)

<ProfBrock> (wait... collie i am at the bike, they are at the car, no?)

<DrSchmidt> (you ddn't post much about the UNI - only about the Fusion 15)

<Sgt-Collie> (No, but a Technology+Intelligence, should give you that, while cleaning out the sand)

<DrSchmidt> !dice 7

<snowball> DrSchmidt rolls the dice and gets the following results: 9 3 4 1 10 7 4

<Sgt-Collie> (Yes)

<Jacob_Edwards_M> thing injected by the time you count to ten.

<Agent-J> *takes a leak in real life*

<ProfBrock> (ok i'm lost)

<ProfBrock> (WHERE IS WHO HERE)

*Sgt-Collie* You can start the bike, at will, now. Until you disconnect. Next connection requires a new roll

* DrSchmidt tries to get into the bike's electronics

<Jacob_Edwards_M> ( J and Edwards are at the rear of the truck, about to dissect the dog. )

<DrSchmidt> (BTW I have Electronics Aptitude, too)

<ProfBrock> schmidt no need for that

<ProfBrock> i can hotwire this bike if you want...

<Jacob_Edwards_M> ( BRB )

<Sgt-Collie> (Ok, then you may apply a -1, I will say, toward diff of UNI connections)

* ProfBrock flips the diary to its final entries

* DrSchmidt starts the bike...

* ProfBrock read sthe final entries

<DrSchmidt> Hey, that's cool! It still works :-)

<ProfBrock> hmmm nice Schmidt

<ProfBrock> are you planning to ride it?

<Sgt-Collie> The final entries of the diary are of a small twon called Thompson. You recognize a few landmarks he mentions, and know the town is a 150 kilometers away.

<Agent-J> *back*

<ProfBrock> anything interesting?

<DrSchmidt> Brock: Better not. Just scientific curiousity, you see

<Sgt-Collie> There is a small not at the bottom, it reads: My ass hurts...I can't wait to find the next town, and get a room...and maybe a whore. Definitely some booze..."

<Agent-J> (I'm a few meters away from the car now, looking around like a guard

<ProfBrock> hmm

<Agent-J> (I don't care for this dicecting stufff)

<DrSchmidt> Do you think we could keep that bike? It's pretty cool...

<ProfBrock> Scmidt help me with this

<DrSchmidt> Brock: What? Where?

* ProfBrock & Schmidt take the bike up

<Sgt-Collie> J: You note a few aerial creatures, off in the distance...they are all quite a ways away, but maintaining there positions, at different axis from you.

<Agent-J> (I keep an eye on them)

<DrSchmidt> Brock: You want to ride it?

<ProfBrock> hmmm

<ProfBrock> think i might :)

<DrSchmidt> Brock: Well, be my guest!

<ProfBrock> ok is there anything around the bike?

<Sgt-Collie> (the UNI allows you to start the bike. Electronic ignition)

<Sgt-Collie> (Sand)

<Sgt-Collie> (Lots of sand)

<DrSchmidt> I already startetd it

<ProfBrock> i sit at the controls and tell Schmidt to sit behind me

<DrSchmidt> I sit behind Brock, not looking very happy

<ProfBrock> ok hold on :)

<DrSchmidt> But caaaaareful!!!

* ProfBrock turns the bike and takes off towards the car :)

<ProfBrock> BROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

<DrSchmidt> Heeeeelp!!!

<Agent-J> okay, what do we do with the rest of the dog?

* DrSchmidt grabs Brock and hangs on to him for his dear life

* ProfBrock grins and stops next to the trunk

<Sgt-Collie> As far as you can tell, there is nothing unusual about the coyote. It does not even show the signs of the exposure to energy.

* DrSchmidt breathes in relief

* ProfBrock unplugs the UNI ffrom the ignition and tells schmidt to open his eyes :)

<DrSchmidt> Are we safe again?

<ProfBrock> ok this thing works

<DrSchmidt> Yeah, it does...

* DrSchmidt takes back the UNI

<ProfBrock> yes... and we are not moving if you haven't noticed... and you CAN LET GO OF ME

<DrSchmidt> Okay...

* DrSchmidt jumps of the bike

<Agent-J> Time to eat people?

<DrSchmidt> Thanks goodness, I have ground below my feet again!

<ProfBrock> ok it seems that everything is ok

<ProfBrock> the dog is ok...

<DrSchmidt> Agent-J. Yeah. And I need a stiff drink, too

* ProfBrock grabs the PSG and places it on the bike

* Agent-J hope that he can hold dinner after seeing that dog...

<DrSchmidt> J. Try a stiff drink, too

<ProfBrock> J i see you are under the weather sit in the back and let doc Ed drive...

<ProfBrock> Schmidt sit in the car there is nothinh here

<DrSchmidt> Yeah, yeah...

<ProfBrock> ED go towards the town... i 'll go next to you

* ProfBrock grins and turns towards the bike

* DrSchmidt stows away the backpack & Fusion-15 and sits down

* Agent-J looks at the birds on the horizon! "And I don't like the looks of that either"

<ProfBrock> yes... let's go into town

<DrSchmidt> Neither do I. But I'm still hungry

<ProfBrock> we cant hunt them during night

<Agent-J> okay, lets got out of here shall we?

* ProfBrock sits on the bike and tells the people to head towars town

<Sgt-Collie> As you continue, it is well past 8pm, things are getting dark, and you have to drive with your lights.

<DrSchmidt> Let's go Dr.Edwards. I want a nice steak!

<Sgt-Collie> (Who is driving? and which vehicle is in front?))

<DrSchmidt> I thought DR.Edwards is

* ProfBrock turns on the light enhancing eyes and the bike lights and activates the intro track in his ADEI from "Full Throtle"

* DrSchmidt makes a PK-meter reading of the surroundings, just to be sure

<Jacob_Edwards_M> (back)

<Agent-J> with the dust it's better if he's in front of us

* Jacob_Edwards_M Dr. Edwards finished his dissection of the dog, taking the appropriate samples of organ tissue and blood, before he finally disposed of the body (read: threw on the ground) and joined the others in the car. "...Let us go, then."

* Jacob_Edwards_M well, then, he got behind the wheel. "Where are we going, gentleman?"

<Agent-J> to the nearest town..?

<ProfBrock> towards that town we saw earlier

<Sgt-Collie> Ok....(Bike rider person..) PCP+Alertness roll diff 9.

* ProfBrock is driving next to you on the Harley...

<ProfBrock> !dice 4

<snowball> ProfBrock rolls the dice and gets the following results: 5 8 6 8

<DrSchmidt> !dice 5

<snowball> DrSchmidt rolls the dice and gets the following results: 2 6 3 5 6

<Sgt-Collie> You spot something long, thin and black, lying scross the road. (Who is driving harley?)

* Jacob_Edwards_M he began driving, whistling a golden oldie as he went.

<Sgt-Collie> (Wait, you don't spot it, sorry)

<ProfBrock> (not me)

<ProfBrock> (i'm driving but i'm not noticing)

* DrSchmidt doesn't see anything. I'm looking at my PK meter

<Sgt-Collie> (Ok, the driver of the Harley must make a Wits+Drive roll, diff 8, as the front tire bursts suddenly, as the bike skids out fo control)

<ProfBrock> !dice 5

<snowball> ProfBrock rolls the dice and gets the following results: 6 5 2 4 4

<ProfBrock> (OUCH)

<Sgt-Collie> (And the driver of suburban must make a similar roll, at diff 7, as they see this happen...that is, if you plan to brake)

* Jacob_Edwards_M failed to stifle a laugh at the site of the bursting tire. He tried to muffle his giggles when others gave him looks of, "gee, you're a sadistic bastard." He coughed, and cleared his throat, "Dont' worry...all's well that end's...with me regrowing limbs in a vat."

<Jacob_Edwards_M> <sp1wp>

<Jacob_Edwards_M> !dice 5

<snowball> Jacob_Edwards_M rolls the dice and gets the following results: 6 7 7 7 6

<Jacob_Edwards_M> <1 sx>

<ProfBrock> (my char hates your char jay but i love it :))

<Sgt-Collie> The suburban comes to a complete stop, only an inch or two before the black line that was laid across the road.

<DrSchmidt> Huh? What's up?

<Sgt-Collie> Brock: Soak 5 Bashing....

* DrSchmidt looks up from the PK-Meter

<Sgt-Collie> (Afk a minute)

<ProfBrock> !dice 5

<snowball> ProfBrock rolls the dice and gets the following results: 4 9 7 2 1

<ProfBrock> (thump)

<Jacob_Edwards_M> "Our friend seems to have been reintroduced to inertia. Face-first," and another round of giggles passed the old man's withered lips.

<ProfBrock> OUCH OUCH

<DrSchmidt> Well, I always knew that bikes were dangerous!

* ProfBrock gets up takes his PSG and manically starts to go back searching for the black stripe

* Jacob_Edwards_M climbs out of the mountaineer slowly, case in hand. "Professor, would you like me to take a look at those wounds?" His eyes glittered with amusement; one could only imagine what sort of letters he sent to Santa as a child.

* DrSchmidt peers out of the window, but it's pretty dark.

* ProfBrock shots back a venomous glance to ED

<DrSchmidt> (shouts out of the window of the car)Do you need some help?

* Agent-J exits the car and looks at the line we stopped at...

<ProfBrock> (Edward realises that he is talking to a pissed off man with a big gun)

* Jacob_Edwards_M "Don't give me that look. You're alive, be happy."

* ProfBrock raises the rifle... but thinks better and crouches by the black line

<Agent-J> (hold on, our ST is gone for a moment!)

* Jacob_Edwards_M "Fine, heal yourself. And don't come to me when you need that Uber-Viagra, either."

* ProfBrock Dr. Edwards... get you whitetrash ass out of that car and get over here

<ProfBrock> DOC!

* Jacob_Edwards_M a single ivory brow arched delicately against a field of wrinkles, and a diamond edge entered the old man's voice. "Watch your tongue, young man. I was strangling Nazi's in the Russian tundras before your father ever managed to break his condom on prom night." He half-hissed, and slid back into the car.

<Sgt-Collie> The air is filled with the sound of a whirring siren, and birght lights of blue and red crest a neaby roll in the hills, as a police car speed toward you.

* ProfBrock notes that he IS in charge...

* ProfBrock picks up

* ProfBrock shoulders his rifle and waits for the car

<Sgt-Collie> It closes the distance at a remarkable pace...at least ninety miles an hour, as it ploughs down the road.

* Jacob_Edwards_M Try telling that to half-cenile old men. Inside the car, he quickly began to gather up the guns inside, and rolled the mountaineer over to Brock.

* DrSchmidt sits still in the car, looking slightly worried

<Sgt-Collie> It almost seems as if the driver plans to collide with your crew, before he suddenly whips the wheel, and spins to a sliding stop, just an inch or two away from the fallen bike.

* ProfBrock pulls out his ID and heads towards the car

<Sgt-Collie> The driver door opened, and a man who must have stood well over 2 meters climbed out.

<Sgt-Collie> He propped his 'Smokey the Bear' hat on his head and clutched a shotgun in the other hand.

<Sgt-Collie> "Quick, get in the car!" he barked.

* ProfBrock team put the weapons on lower

<Sgt-Collie> "We've got a madman on our hands, and he's been picking people off, for weeks, get in, hurry!"

<ProfBrock> what??

<ProfBrock> wait

<ProfBrock> there was some black thing here

<Sgt-Collie> He hid as much of his bulk behind the car door, as he scanned the area, for signs of the killer.

* Jacob_Edwards_M The old man was a bit hard to perturb, and so he simply loaded a tranquilizer into his X-5, and waited for the outcome.

<Sgt-Collie> The cop looked down at the strip. "Yeah, that's a police barricade...sadly to say, the guy who'se been doing all of this is a rogue cop...."

<ProfBrock> sarge wait aq sec

<Jacob_Edwards_M> "I'm never going to make it to retirement."

* ProfBrock walks to ed

* Agent-J walks towards the mountaineer but does not go in

* DrSchmidt PK-Meters te cop

<ProfBrock> doc i could use one of those meds now...

<Sgt-Collie> "He's been trapping tarvelers out on this road, and the highway, and killing them all..."

<Sgt-Collie> (Make your PK roll)

<DrSchmidt> !dice 3

<snowball> DrSchmidt rolls the dice and gets the following results: 10 6 8

<Jacob_Edwards_M> "The healing, the tranquilizer, or the viagra?"

<ProfBrock> the healing doc... i think i won't be needing no viagra right now

<Sgt-Collie> (The reading are even higher than those of Mr Ackwaters. The PK meter grows warm in your hands.)

<DrSchmidt> Uh-oh... We got a problem...

<ProfBrock> what is it?

<DrSchmidt> That guy reads as HOT

<ProfBrock> shit

<DrSchmidt> Same stuff like Ackwater

<Jacob_Edwards_M> "They take time. Handle the officers, I'll be done in a minute or so." Hmph; the Professor should've come when he called him the first time. He slid a tran into the Prof's hand, though. "Here, use that."

* Sgt-Collie flicks his eyes between the members of the crew, before jumping back into his car.

<Jacob_Edwards_M> slid a tranquilizer into the Prof's hand*

* ProfBrock spins around and shoots the sgt with the psg tranquilizers

* Jacob_Edwards_M Setting his case into his lap, he diligently set to mixing up a batch of tissue regeneration enzymes for the uppity youth that was the Professor.

<Sgt-Collie> His hat fall from his head, only to be snatched up, by a bearlike arm, before the engine revved and the door shut, as the car launched forward, driving off the road a bit and creating a massive cloud of dust.

<ProfBrock> !dice 6

<snowball> ProfBrock rolls the dice and gets the following results: 4 9 9 5 10 7

* Agent-J shoots the the tires of sgts car

<DrSchmidt> I'm using my PK-meter again...

<DrSchmidt> !dice 3

<snowball> DrSchmidt rolls the dice and gets the following results: 10 8 7

<ProfBrock> i think the sarge was tranqued by this shot, no?

<Sgt-Collie> (Not unless it goes through cars)

<Agent-J> (waits with the tire shot)

<ProfBrock> through the window it can go

<ProfBrock> it is at least 14 levels of damage

<Agent-J> (decides to shoot )

<Sgt-Collie> (Tire shot hits...but doesn't burst. American police have special tires that require removal of a sideall, to completely deflate. +1 to all of his driving diff's though)

<Jacob_Edwards_M> (the tranqs are 12 bashing)

* Jacob_Edwards_M he set aside his meds, and stuck them half-done into the case. Whirling about the wheel, he sharply brought around the mountaineer, pulling up to the other agents. "Get in, I'll follow 'im."

<Sgt-Collie> (The dmg is from tranq poison, not the gun, is it?)

<Agent-J> (ACK! forgot :( )

<ProfBrock> yes but the bullet still goes out, no?

* ProfBrock sits next to doc edwards

<Jacob_Edwards_M> ( Tranq dart...no real bullet to speak of

)

<Sgt-Collie> ( A hollow dart, with a needle)

<ProfBrock> (ahaaa)

<Sgt-Collie> (It would not go through a police car window)

<DrSchmidt> I am still inside

* ProfBrock loads the PSG with normal ammo

<Jacob_Edwards_M> (Agent J getting in?)

<ProfBrock> STEP ON IT DOC!

<Sgt-Collie> The police car looks a bit wobbly, as it speeds up, but it remains on course, and speeds into town.

* Agent-J gets in

* Jacob_Edwards_M the moment Agent J got in, Doc hit the pedal to the metal, and took off down the road after the cops.

<DrSchmidt> Hm... I hope these manifestations haven't taken over the whole populace there

* ProfBrock uses the PSG but to kick out the windshield of the car

<Jacob_Edwards_M> "Oy...vhat a fucking mess."

<Sgt-Collie> Through a small series of hills, the pinpoints of light show that you are approaching the town. The police car is doing at least ninety MPH (150km or so, I believe)

* Agent-J gets the windshield down and readys his fusion-15

<Sgt-Collie> Driver, make me a Driving roll, at diff 5, please, only 1 suxx needed. Wits + Drive)

<Jacob_Edwards_M> "Listen to me, professor...In my case, you will see a vial marked X302, and a vial marked FfN2. I need you to blend the two, in a 1:3 ratio, fill a tranq dart with it... aim at the tires. They explode rather large, you can aim anywhere on the tire..."

<Jacob_Edwards_M> !dice 5

<snowball> Jacob_Edwards_M rolls the dice and gets the following results: 10 10 4 5 7

<ProfBrock> don't worry doc

<ProfBrock> i have just the thing here

* ProfBrock takes out hte HE slugs

* ProfBrock loads a single HE slug in the upper roll

<Sgt-Collie> (Diff mod, for shotting from vehicle?)

* ProfBrock shoots at the back

<Sgt-Collie> (And how many rounds, to make this, James?)

<Jacob_Edwards_M> ( I don't believe there is one. )

<Jacob_Edwards_M> (Uh... he decided not to make it, so none I suppose )

<Jacob_Edwards_M> ( :: kind of driving :: )

<ProfBrock> (i am shooting through the windshield leaned on the car

<Sgt-Collie> (I would say at least +1, it is hard to shoot from a car, always, especially on a bumpy, country type road.)

<ProfBrock> (i am shooting through the windshield leaned on the car)

<Sgt-Collie> (oh, nm, then)

<ProfBrock> (i'll shot a the tires)

<Sgt-Collie> (Through your windshield?)

<ProfBrock> i pushed it out earlier

<Agent-J> side window I presume...

<Sgt-Collie> (Ahhh, ok)

* DrSchmidt sits in the back of the car and refrains from stunts like shooting... ^_^

<Agent-J> (I did so too)

* ProfBrock aims at the right wheel and aims with the scope

* ProfBrock activates the laser targeter

<Sgt-Collie> (+1 for shooting form vehicle, +1 for targeting a wheel, from behind the car.)

<Sgt-Collie> (-2 is it, for laser sight?)

<ProfBrock> (-2 for sight +3 dice for aiming with the scope)

<Sgt-Collie> (ok.)

<ProfBrock> !dice 9

<snowball> ProfBrock rolls the dice and gets the following results: 6 3 6 7 3 1 8 4 5

<ProfBrock> BLAM

<Sgt-Collie> (Left or right tire?)

<Sgt-Collie> (And which was it earlier?)

<ProfBrock> right

<Jacob_Edwards_M> "You see, back in the army, if you were ever an attache like myself, you were given special driving courses, in order to be able to protect whomever you were driving, because they were, inevitably, an ambassador of one sort or another. One of the first things they teach you, is the proper way to navigate every bump in the round, so as to increase your speed as much as possible..."

<ProfBrock> left

<Sgt-Collie> (k)

<Jacob_Edwards_M> <Spending 2 rounds on a Forces 2 effect to increase their momentum...>

<Sgt-Collie> (Ok, thyough increasing explosiveness might be better)

<ProfBrock> (can we leave the tall tales for when i'm not aiming, old man??!?!

<ProfBrock> that would be some 10 dice

<Jacob_Edwards_M> "...Your mother didn't hug you as a child, did she?"

<ProfBrock> should i roll for damage or what?

<Sgt-Collie> (yes, please)

<ProfBrock> !dice 10

<ProfBrock> Doc i'm concentrating here!

<Sgt-Collie> You are now at the crest of a hill, that leads into town, you see what appears to be a small town of shacks and old west style buildings.

<ProfBrock> collie is this enough to blow it off?

<Sgt-Collie> You look dwon upon the town, which is backed by a hill, on which a dark, thick line runs up to the top.

* DrSchmidt directs the PK-Meter at the town...

<Sgt-Collie> (Whoa, what is going on?)

<Jacob_Edwards_M> <4 sx on the Forces effect to hasten the car...2 sx spent for duration (Scene), 2 sx spent to increase their speed (tripled)>

<Agent-J> at least, the board said so

<Jacob_Edwards_M> ( Read up, man... he started an extended Forces 2 roll to hasten their speed... )

<Jacob_Edwards_M> ( I even went into a paragraph-long paradigm justification... )

<DrSchmidt> J. I don't trust any boards...

<ProfBrock> (i shot the tire off with 5 sux from the HE bullet)

<Sgt-Collie> (Ok, give me a second to respond to other stuff, before you amke your next action. You just spent 2 round doing something else)

<Jacob_Edwards_M> (... I ...was driving. There was nothing else to be doing...)

<Sgt-Collie> (You did not enhance the bullet?)

<Jacob_Edwards_M> (N o, I did not )

<Sgt-Collie> (Ok, I got confused then)

<Sgt-Collie> (Anyway)

<ProfBrock> it was a High explosive bullet (10 dice of damage, 5 pased)

<Sgt-Collie> The tire recieves 4 lvls of dmg, it does not burst, thoguh an addition +2 is applied to his driving checks.

<Sgt-Collie> (5 passed?)

<Agent-J> (I aim at whatever tire is still good, with the fusion-15)

<ProfBrock> (yep 5 suxx)

<Sgt-Collie> Ok, correction...the tire on the right rear bursts into flame, at the impact of the bullet.

<ProfBrock> (10 8 10 7 6)

<DrSchmidt> (ST: What did I asense from the town?)

<Agent-J> (did not fire yet. what does the car do?)

<Jacob_Edwards_M> (on a side-note...the car is now capable of going at 500 KM/HR, if the driver so chooses to speed up...as it is, Edwards is just trying to force the cops off the road. Preferably into a building.)

<Sgt-Collie> Smoking chunks of rubber spray through the air, as the rim strikes the bedraggled pavement and draws sparks. The vehicle slows to less than 35 mph, after losing over 1/2 its propulsion

<ProfBrock> :)

<Jacob_Edwards_M> ( If no buildings are available, I'll settle for driving them into a dark pit of despair... )

* ProfBrock smuggly smiles, pulls the lever on the rifle and says... continue now old man :)

<Jacob_Edwards_M> "In the future, remind me to put Krazy Glue in your toothpaste."

<Sgt-Collie> As you speed into the beginnings of town, you see a few odd things, like a trio of bicycles, all tuned upside down, the wind blowing their tires around and around

<Sgt-Collie> An old building that looks like a movie theatre hold only one or two of the old letters in its name.

<ProfBrock> ok Ghostville?

<Jacob_Edwards_M> ( back up there, Bronco...we still need to beat the shit out of the cops and interrogate them. )

<Sgt-Collie> (I know, you are still on the road, and moving forward, though)

<Agent-J> (inside town, I gather)

<Sgt-Collie> However, it retains it's course, and plods onward, attempting in vain, to gain a little speed

<Sgt-Collie> The cops dangles his arm and something else out the window, before slinging an object in front of your mountaineer.

<Sgt-Collie> (sounds good)

<Prof_Brock> (further if it wasn't going for the car)

<Jacob_Edwards_M> "Mark where it fell; we may need to go back and investigate."

<Sgt-Collie> A tire strip, similar to the one hit by the Harley, hits the pavement, and rolls off to the side, landing just out of your path.

<Prof_Brock> i don't think we'll be needing that

<Prof_Brock> and i think that we have found that cops mystery killer

<Sgt-Collie> You continue to speed through town, at the whopping speed of 25 mph....

<Prof_Brock> :)

<Sgt-Collie> Up ahead, you can see the police station, it seems to be where the cops is heading.

<Jacob_Edwards_M> (The forces effect allows us to move at triple speed...have we not yet been able to out-speed the cops? )

<Jacob_Edwards_M> (not for nothing, but we're moving at 500 KM/hour or so...)

<Sgt-Collie> (You can outspeed him, but it is still a driving check to run him off the road)

<Jacob_Edwards_M> (Time for the driving check, then)

<Sgt-Collie> (And at that speed, you would drive past him, and get massive Driving modifiers)

<Jacob_Edwards_M> !dice 5

<snowball> Jacob_Edwards_M rolls the dice and gets the following results: 6 5 10 2 7

<Sgt-Collie> !dice 7

<snowball> Sgt-Collie rolls the dice and gets the following results: 2 2 1 1 7 3 2

<Agent_J> OUCH!

<Sgt-Collie> The police car is shoved onto the wooden plank sidealk, in fron of what appears to be a general store, slamming its bulk through the glass and wood front of the building.

<Agent_J> victory!

<Sgt-Collie> The roof in front caves in a small bit, coming down to cover the car

<Sgt-Collie> !dice 4

<snowball> Sgt-Collie rolls the dice and gets the following results: 5 6 8 8

<Sgt-Collie> !dice 8

<snowball> Sgt-Collie rolls the dice and gets the following results: 2 3 3 10 3 5 5 3

<Sgt-Collie> The police car's light and horn kick on, lighting the area madly and blaring annoying sirens and horn noises.

<Agent_J> (and the St ponders about how bad the situation is :P :D)

* Jacob_Edwards_M pulled over alongside the general store. He let the younguns go and handle the specifics; he picked his case up, and resumed working on the Professor's regenerative enzymes.

<Sgt-Collie> (No, am waiting for you)

* DrSchmidt looks slightly green from the chase

* Agent_J steps out and goes towards the drivers side of the police car, fusion-15 ready

* Agent_J looks at 'cop'

<Sgt-Collie> The collapsed portion of the rof lies between the outside, and the doors of the car.

<Agent_J> (can I see the 'cop'?)

<Sgt-Collie> A gap is available, amybe 1 meter in diamete, through which to enter.

<Sgt-Collie> (Not from here)

<Agent_J> (I only want to see what's he's like)

* DrSchmidt gets out of the car with slightly wobbly legs

* Prof_Brock get's together

<Sgt-Collie> (You can see a trunk and a liscence plate)

* Prof_Brock exits taking out his x-5 revolver

<Sgt-Collie> A cawing cry rings through the air.

<Prof_Brock> shit

* DrSchmidt takes out his PK meter & checks

* Agent_J looks at the direction from which it comes

<DrSchmidt> !dice 3

<snowball> DrSchmidt rolls the dice and gets the following results: 7 5 1

<Sgt-Collie> Perched on the rooftop of the building across the street, are a group of vultures, and gazing down at you with evil glares.

<Prof_Brock> (how many ?)

<Sgt-Collie> (What are you checking DR?)

<Sgt-Collie> (A dozen, or so)

<DrSchmidt> (ST the car)

<Prof_Brock> (how much would be taken out by a 10 dice explosive shot :))?)

<Sgt-Collie> (Ok, The car reads nothing at all, not even lingering traces.)

<DrSchmidt> Hm. Weird. The car seems to be clean

* Prof_Brock grabs his psg and loads another HE round inside

<Sgt-Collie> (Maybe 2, if enough dmaage were done. They aren't grenade rounds, they are explosive bullets)

<Prof_Brock> it eas the driver doc

<DrSchmidt> But then, the reading before I got from that cop

<Prof_Brock> (and autofire ?)

<Sgt-Collie> (Of course, a grenade would probably work....)

<Sgt-Collie> (Use the autofire rules, for strafing)

<Sgt-Collie> (or split pools, or whatever)

<Jacob_Edwards_M> "Of course, it's clean, gentleman. You seem to be overlooking something..."

<Prof_Brock> (it's a shame for the bullets)

* Prof_Brock unloads the HE round and aims at the vultures

<Sgt-Collie> (Yes, as they are limited)

<Jacob_Edwards_M> "Oh, spare the poor birds!"

<Prof_Brock> i won't shoot them... yet

* Agent_J joins allongside Brock and looks for possible other targets

<Jacob_Edwards_M> "There's no point in shooting them altogether. The culprit here is no physical organism; they are.. .meat puppets. Neither the police nor the birds have what we're looking for."

* Jacob_Edwards_M has now been working on those damned healing enzymes for a few minutes.

<Jacob_Edwards_M> !dice 9

<snowball> Jacob_Edwards_M rolls the dice and gets the following results: 3 3 4 1 5 9 7 7 4

* Prof_Brock uses a quick procedure for being unnoticed by people around him (mind 2)

<Jacob_Edwards_M> <7 sx>

<Prof_Brock> !dice 3

<snowball> Prof_Brock rolls the dice and gets the following results: 6 4 10

* Jacob_Edwards_M "Professor, whenever you finish investigating, I've your regenerative enzymes prepared..." he spoke into his com.

* Prof_Brock taps doc on the shoulder

<Prof_Brock> thx doc

<Prof_Brock> i could use those...

<Prof_Brock> how do they work?

<Prof_Brock> and must i use them right away?

* Jacob_Edwards_M he started at the tap, and a hand went to his heart. "...These are a special batch. These aren't the quick heal shots. You take them now, and they'll last for a week or so, enhancing your healing rate outrageously..."

<Prof_Brock> interesting

* Prof_Brock takes of his jacket and pulls up his shirt sleeve

<Sgt-Collie> As a group, six vultures take flight from the roff of the building across the street, circling, to gain height. meanwhile, the others remained where they were.

* Jacob_Edwards_M carefully tapped his needle, and settled it against the man's vein. He drew out a little bit of blood, testing to make sure he hit the vein, and then pumped in slowly.

<Prof_Brock> ouch... i always hated needles...

* Jacob_Edwards_M the needle pulled back out, and blood didn't even well up. His flesh had already healed.

<Prof_Brock> cool... i can do Wolverine stuff with this?

:)

<Sgt-Collie> With a symphony of racous cries, the vultures descended upon the group of investigators.

<Jacob_Edwards_M> "Don't get carried away, Professor. No drug can heal the dead."

<Prof_Brock> of course...

<DrSchmidt> Dr.Edwards, this seems to be truly amazing! Is this Nanite-based?

<Sgt-Collie> (Anyone actually IN the vehicle?)

<Jacob_Edwards_M> (Yes, the Doc)

* DrSchmidt is outside looking around

<Sgt-Collie> (anyone else?)

<Prof_Brock> and prof

<Prof_Brock> we are taling about the meds

<Sgt-Collie> (J?)

<DrSchmidt> (wasn't the prof outside, too?

<Agent_J> (no idea what to do...)

<DrSchmidt> (me was copy-pasting the log...)

* Jacob_Edwards_M seeing the descending vultures, his hand dropped to the door, and simply hit the button that rolled up the window.

<Sgt-Collie> Two vultures splat themselves into the windshield, shattering the glass ans simultaneously breaking their necks.

* DrSchmidt POK-meters the vultures first

<Prof_Brock> shiiit

<DrSchmidt> !dice 3

<snowball> DrSchmidt rolls the dice and gets the following results: 1 7 4

<Sgt-Collie> (Vultures are mildly hot)

<Sgt-Collie> !dice 1

<snowball> Sgt-Collie rolls the dice and gets the following results: 7

<Sgt-Collie> <10>

<Agent_J> (okay, I always do that in my games as well)

<Sgt-Collie> (Ok)

<DrSchmidt> !dice 7

<snowball> DrSchmidt rolls the dice and gets the following results: 1 3 5 10 9 1 5

<Sgt-Collie> (You all know what vultures look like, right?)

<Prof_Brock> i of course

<DrSchmidt> Ugly

<Agent_J> (yeah, so?)

<Sgt-Collie> (Just wondering)

<Agent_J> (better save than sorry ;)

<DrSchmidt> (:-))

<Sgt-Collie> (So as to better imagine the scene...after all, a sparrow dive bombing would not be as threatening)

<Sgt-Collie> (Ok, dmg, Schmidt)

* Prof_Brock pulls out the X-5

<DrSchmidt> (ST whatwas the damage of the Fusion 15?)

<Sgt-Collie> (Now, I will assume that any who are shooting are outside, or have a window rolled down)

<Sgt-Collie> (Suxx + 2 Agg)

<Agent_J> (i'm outside)

<DrSchmidt> I am standing next to the police car

<Prof_Brock> i am not shooting

<Sgt-Collie> (Diff 7)

<Sgt-Collie> (I am just letting everyone know)

<snowball> ((sheesh, are you guys still going?))

<Prof_Brock> i'm more worried about the ones stuck in the windshield

<DrSchmidt> 0 sx

<Sgt-Collie> (ok)

<Sgt-Collie> (J and the birds)

<Agent_J> !dice 6

<snowball> Agent_J rolls the dice and gets the following results: 2 8 5 3 5 2

<Jacob_Edwards_M> (Sorry, forgot to roll inits... I waqs semi-afk)

<Agent_J> (1 suc)

<Jacob_Edwards_M> ( I'll just go last... doing an extended roll anyway)

<Agent_J> (how much damage?)

* Prof_Brock and Doc Edwards are talking and pointing at the vulture heads sticking out the windshield

<Sgt-Collie> 2 birds plummet toward Schmidt, 2 birds plummet at windshield again, attempting to break through, and two more take off from the roof.

<Sgt-Collie> (I dunno, what is X5 dmg?)

<Sgt-Collie> !dice 3

<snowball> Sgt-Collie rolls the dice and gets the following results: 7 3 1

<Jacob_Edwards_M> "My god, I think the cop car is going to blow..."

<Sgt-Collie> The first of the birds attacking Dr S misses and hits the roof of the vehicle, denting it in a bit, and breaking its neck

<Agent_J> !dice 6

<snowball> Agent_J rolls the dice and gets the following results: 8 8 9 7 3 4

<Sgt-Collie> One of the vultures loses a wing, as it plummets, spinning its body out of control and plopping it on the sidewalk.

<DrSchmidt> (Well, indirect hit ^_^)

<Sgt-Collie> !dice 3

<snowball> Sgt-Collie rolls the dice and gets the following results: 8 8 5

<Prof_Brock> doc are we in any danger?

<Sgt-Collie> !dice 5

<snowball> Sgt-Collie rolls the dice and gets the following results: 4 10 3 5 4

* Prof_Brock quickly calculates the chances on the car blowing

<Jacob_Edwards_M> "Of the car blowing? No... I vill pull away if I see the fire reach too close to the gas tank." He elaborated, by putting the car in reverse, and pulling away from the cop car.

<Sgt-Collie> 1 Lethal, Schmidt, as the second vulture skims your shoulder.

<DrSchmidt> Ouch

<Sgt-Collie> The second pair of windshield attackers push the glass in, and cause the window to fall iunto your laps, complete with 4 dead vultures...

<Jacob_Edwards_M> (ST, what round we up to?)

<Jacob_Edwards_M> (And how many live vultures left?)

<Sgt-Collie> (1/2 way through 2)

<Sgt-Collie> (4 on roof, 2 alive, in air)

* Prof_Brock activates his DEI and starts to calculate the chance od the shards of the car to hit the vultures (entropy 3, taking time)

* Jacob_Edwards_M He knew the car would blow; he watched the tank expand and erupt. Fire filled the air, a mushroom of bright white and red painting the sky.

<Jacob_Edwards_M> <Forces3/Prime 2 fireball...2 wp and 2 qt spent over 2 rounds>

<Jacob_Edwards_M> !dice 6

<snowball> Jacob_Edwards_M rolls the dice and gets the following results: 10 8 4 6 7 2

<Jacob_Edwards_M> <6 sx>

<Jacob_Edwards_M> !dice 1

<snowball> Jacob_Edwards_M rolls the dice and gets the following results: 3

<DrSchmidt> (Are you kidding? I was in the vicinity of that thing!)

<Sgt-Collie> The last two in the air speed towrd Brock, though as he is still inside, he is much harder to hit.

<Sgt-Collie> !dice 3

<snowball> Sgt-Collie rolls the dice and gets the following results: 3 7 4

<Jacob_Edwards_M> ( Proffessor is controlling the explosion with Entropy, to make sure it doesn't hit any of ours )

<Jacob_Edwards_M> <2 sx spent targetting it at the vultures )

<Sgt-Collie> The first misses and hits the roof, denting it again

<Jacob_Edwards_M> (4 sx spent on damage; 8 L)

<Sgt-Collie> (At which ones?

* Prof_Brock waited for the explosion and calculated that the chance odf the shards hitting the team were minimal and that the chance of them hitting the vultures is quite large (entropy 3)

<Prof_Brock> !roll 6

<Jacob_Edwards_M> (You said there's only 2 vultures left... I hit...the 2 left)

<Sgt-Collie> (2 in the air, 4 on rooftop)

<Prof_Brock> !dice 6

<snowball> Prof_Brock rolls the dice and gets the following results: 10 9 5 7 5 6

<Jacob_Edwards_M> (Ah, then I hit 2 in the air, 1 on the rooftop, for 6 L each)

<Prof_Brock> ok i have 6 sux on the entropy roll for the shards to hit the vultures

<Sgt-Collie> (k)

<Prof_Brock> each of them gets hit :)

<Sgt-Collie> (ok)

<Prof_Brock> each of them gets hit... in the head :)

<Sgt-Collie> Smoking remnants of vulture litter the streets, after the explosion.

<Agent_J> woohoo!

<Prof_Brock> nice doc...

<Sgt-Collie> The town seems very quiet, for the moment....

<Prof_Brock> though i knew the shards would hit them

<Prof_Brock> the probability was stunning 67.67 %
