Marvin_Black has the feeling Red and Marv will fill up the main part of the interludes ;)

<Red_Queen> Marv, you got the pic? it's what the place you were thrown in looks like..

<Marvin_Black> Ok. Got it

<Red_Queen> you are standing outside of a huge tower, made of red bricks. You are standing next to a flaming entrance that sends light up the tower and to the infinity above it.

<Red_Queen> (dang, brb in a sec, phone)

Marvin_Black looks around and scratches his head.

Marvin_Black sighs

<Marvin_Black> Well, sooner or later something *had* to go wrong with my machine... I guess this is afterlife...

Marvin_Black sighs again

<Red_Queen> (back)

<Red_Queen> (A voice echoes through the place)

<Red_Queen> Come inside..

<Marvin_Black> Ummm... Well... Do I have a choice?

Marvin_Black thinks about the pain and tortures awaiting him

<Red_Queen> (suddenly, the fires that blocked the entrance go away, revealing a spiralling staircase

Marvin_Black sighs.

<Marvin_Black> Welcome pain, torture and agony... Welcome back again.

Marvin_Black slowly steps inside and begins climbing up the stairs

<Marvin_Black> This is what Death looks like?

<Red_Queen> (The staircase is somewhat steep and seems to stretch upwards forever. The brick stairs and walls seem to be slightly fluctuating, almost rippling like water whenever you touch them.

<Red_Queen> (you reach a large circular room, an altar on it's center.

Marvin_Black looks around and sighs again.

<Marvin_Black> This is what Death looks like? As cheap as life...

Marvin_Black walks towards the altar

<Marvin_Black> I guess this is where I will be tortured for eternity

<Marvin_Black> Nothing really changes

<Red_Queen> (as you walk near the altar, the room suddenly fluctuates, the walls suddenly turning plaster white. where the altar was, now is a hospital bed with a woman on it, doctors around her. You can hear a scream of pain.

<Red_Queen> (The doctors are talking , but the only sound that you can hear is a blurb, accompanying the woman's moaning. suddenly a high pitched cry can be heard.)

Marvin_Black looks at the woman

<Red_Queen> (one of the doctors holds something high, as if it were a trophy. You can see it's a newborn child, still red with it's mother's blood. The woman, a redhaired girl looking not older than 18 looks exhausted and stretched from the pains, but happy nevertheless. A tired smile on her lips.)

<Marvin_Black> Reminds me... Life even begins with pain it seems...

<Marvin_Black> But what the heck is this?

<Red_Queen> (the voice echoes once again, as the room shifts back to it's former appearance.) from pain, even life may begin..

<Marvin_Black> A life that continues in pain

<Marvin_Black> we start with pain, life with pain and end in pain

<Red_Queen> (you can see another staircase, just behind the altar.)

Marvin_Black walks towards tha stars, as he sees no other choice

Marvin_Black sighs and ascends the stairs again.

<Marvin_Black> I guess this wil lbe my torture... Continuing up stairs

<Marvin_Black> For all eternity

<Asm0dai> (oh please... you are crackign me up)

<Asm0dai> (this is realy too much!)

<Red_Queen> You reach another room, somewhat smaller. As you enter, you can feel walking becoming harder, your feet somewhat wobbling. unable to handle your weight.)

Marvin_Black falls down on all fours and beginns crawling up the stairs.

<Marvin_Black> It would have been to easy a torture just to walk...

<Red_Queen> (A child appears from behind you, crawling in a similar manner. it tries to stand up, and even manages to do it for a few moments, before falling down again.)

Marvin_Black looks at the child

<Marvin_Black> Be aware... It will hurt

<Red_Queen> (still the child tries to get up again, this time more stable, more decisive. it makes one, two, three full steps before standing still, balancing itself and trying to stay up.

<Marvin_Black> Don't even try. You will fall again and again and again and hurt yourself... This is lost effort. Best stay down...

<Red_Queen> (a smile is formed on it's lips as it walks towards a staircase. It falls again, but ignorews it and gets up even quicker, eager to continue going forward, you can see it walking through a corridor at the end of the room, a door shutting behind it.)

Asm0dai appears in the background with a large axe... he waves to the stunned people and cotinues intop a back alley with a evil, pointy teeth, anime grin...

<Red_Queen> (next to the door is a switch. it's high enough for you to reach, if only you stand on two feet instead of crawling)

<Marvin_Black> I guess there are even more stairs waiting... Perhaps I should jsut lay down and stay dead...

<Red_Queen> Pain can be overcome Marvin.

<Marvin_Black> To receive even more of it.

<Red_Queen> (you feel your feet somewhat steadier.)

<Red_Queen> But you are the one who is going to overcome it in the end.

<Marvin_Black> Periods without pain are there to make you less used to it, so you feel it even more harder.

Asm0dai happily whistles "High Ho" (from snowhite) while from the alley he is in arrive wet thumping noises of somethign large and sharp hitting something with rotten fallign apart skin...

Marvin_Black crawls forward a little bit more

Marvin_Black reaches the wall but instead of getting up he is sitting down, leaning against the wall

<Red_Queen> So, is that it?

<Red_Queen> will you quit before you even start?

<Marvin_Black> Is there any sense to stumble from one pain to the other just to die in the end anyway?

<Marvin_Black> (any sense in stumbling)

<Red_Queen> You can see black cracks forming on the bricks, making their surface ripple violently.

<Marvin_Black> Ummm... I guess if I don't get up this will be the end and the tower will crumble beneath me?

<Red_Queen> (well it was more Red being ready to quit, facing his behaviour, but it works for me 8-) )

<Marvin_Black> (She will have to tell him so. He wont guess he gave her this idea *g*)

<Red_Queen> (the cracks spread every moment Marvin is on the ground, branching on the walls around him. the floor has started ripling as the cracks start to spread on it too.)

<Marvin_Black> This is bullshit... First I thought I was dead, now if I don't do what you want I will be...

Asm0dai happily exits the alley with the axe on his shoulder... it is dripping black ichor... strangely there is not a drop on his clothes...

Marvin_Black fights his way up to his feet, having big problems to stand but at lasts flips the switch

<Red_Queen> (the rippling and cracks momentarily stop, then vanish as if they were never there. the door next to the switch opens up, revealing a passage.)

<Red_Queen> (the voice, almost shaking, echoes around you)

<Red_Queen> You were not going to die Marv.

<Red_Queen> I wasn't going to kill you.

<Red_Queen> was this the only reason you got up?

Marvin_Black falls back down and crawls down the passage

<Marvin_Black> As I said: I rather choose the devil I know...

<Red_Queen> (your feet are now as stable as ever.. no need to crawl anymore)

<Marvin_Black> (Marv just doesn't care at the momen ^_^)

<Red_Queen> (you see a wooden door at the end of the passage. it is slightly ajar. a red light coming from the opening.)

Marvin_Black pushes open the door and again fights back to his feet like he didn't notice it's not hard time anymore

<Red_Queen> (as you approach it, you can hear the voice again, only this time it sounds as if it's coming from somewhere nearby, without an echo.

<Red_Queen> You can walk, Black. just as much as you could always walk.

<Marvin_Black> Could have told me before...

<Marvin_Black> I hope you enjoy watching me stumbling around...

<Red_Queen> ( you are in a large circular balcony, a large orb in it's center. Red is standing inside the orb, which looks somewhat like a bubble.)

Red_Queen walks outside the orb, her tattered dress moving wildly with the winds on the balcony. she strolls past Marv and sits on the tower wall.

Red_Queen watches the view, her melancholic gaze lost in the infinity around her.

<Red_Queen> I didn't enjoy a single moment of it.

Marvin_Black walks up to her and looks around

<Red_Queen> I thought I could help you. I was sure I could help you.

<Red_Queen> But you don't want to be helped, Marv.

Red_Queen she turns her head, tilting it slightly while looking at him.

<Marvin_Black> You can't change the world... Can't change the way life goes.

<Red_Queen> (gah, "Red queen she"... kill me.)

<Red_Queen> You can't?

<Red_Queen> *you* can't?

<Marvin_Black> I'm a nobody. It didn't matter if I wasn't even born. It never mattered if I lived or died...

<Red_Queen> A mage, from all people saying that?

<Red_Queen> (Marvin still has his wings?)

<Marvin_Black> (Of course)

<Marvin_Black> (He could have flied to the switch ^_^)

<Marvin_Black> If you avoid fate it will come back at you even worse... Look at what happened to MC and Marcello if you know the story...

<Marvin_Black> They thought they could...

Red_Queen shakes her head, not wanting to repeat herself any more.

<Red_Queen> Marvin, I once asked you if you would save your child.

<Marvin_Black> Once? It's perhaps an hour ago.

<Red_Queen> You said you didn't know anything about children. Let me ask you something you might know.

<Marvin_Black> Well?

<Red_Queen> Would you save me? Someone who cared about you?

<Marvin_Black> What's this question all about?

Red_Queen kisses Marv, then walks on the edge of the wall. She whispers "I don't know.". And jumps off the tower.

Marvin_Black runs after her, watches down for only a split second to see her fall. The next moment he spreads his wings and makes an amazing dive down towards her

<Marvin_Black> This girl is even crazier than I thought

Red_Queen is falling freely from the tower, into the infinity below.

Marvin_Black slowly catches up, his wings cut through the air, making some noise as he is coming nearer and nearer towards Red.

Red_Queen feels nothing but the wind brushing up against her body as she plunges to the darkness. She can hear a faint sound closing in, but dares not to open her eyes.

Asm0dai falls next to them from the air exchange bullets from twin '42 Colt's at a number of misshapen Cthulhohid tentacle monstorisites falling towards earth...

Marvin_Black comes even closer his wings almost folded to gain even more speed. Some more moments he is flying next to Red

Marvin_Black shouts

<Marvin_Black> You are insane!

Red_Queen notices Marv, somewhat startled.

<Red_Queen> You are indifferent.

<Marvin_Black> Live or die? YOu still have the choice...

Red_Queen shouts, while both of them are going down at an amazing speed.

<Red_Queen> Choice? Do you think I'll beg you to save me?

<Red_Queen> I'd rather have a more painful death than crushing, Black.

<Marvin_Black> No... I don't want you to beg. Just to make the choice if you really want to die, or if you want to live... If you want to live... I will catch you...

<Red_Queen> I want to live with you. I want to make you live too. You are the one to choose, Marvin.

<Red_Queen> Do *you* want me to live?

<Marvin_Black> We can't discuss while falling towards the ground!

<Red_Queen> (the ground is terrifiyingly close. only moments are left befroe you both reach the ground)

<Red_Queen> Goodbye Marvin.

Marvin_Black flings one arm around Red and helds her tight to his body, while spreading his wings widely trying to slow down the fall while still in air.

Marvin_Black makes a dive with Red in his arm not far from the ground, both almost crushing, before he lifts up into the air again.

<Marvin_Black> Next time look for a higher tower... We werenÄt done talking this out.

<Marvin_Black> weren't

Red_Queen 's eyes well with tears as she in his arm.

Red_Queen laughs while sobbing.

Marvin_Black holds her tightly while gently flying. His fings caress the air as he is slowly heading for the fround again

<Marvin_Black> Should we start again from a higher point so we can talk this out till the end?

<Red_Queen> so, you just saved me to end the conversation, Marvin?

<Marvin_Black> You didn't tell me if you wanted to live or if you wanted to die.

Red_Queen chuckles, tears still in her eyes.

Marvin_Black s feet touch the ground, his wings flap one last time before they fold. He sets Red back to the ground.

<Red_Queen> Had I told you that I wanted to die, would you let me fall, Marv?

<Marvin_Black> No... This would be a cheap escape.. That would have been another death that I would have been responsible for...

<Marvin_Black> So why in all the Hell that is called life did you do this???

<Red_Queen> To see if there is any hint of this Hell called life burning inside you.

<Red_Queen> Thank you for saving me. And proving you're still alive.

Red_Queen gives Marvin a kiss on the cheek, then takes a few steps backwards, as the tower crumbles around them and the entire world shatters like glass hit by a ten lib hammer.

<Marvin_Black> You didn't want to die and we couldn't talk this out until the end. This is why I did it

Red_Queen is next to Marv, both of them back in the cemetary in his sector.

Marvin_Black takes a deep breath.

<Marvin_Black> If we had talked this out we both would have been splattered on the ground

Red_Queen chuckles.

<Red_Queen> wouldn't you rather be splattered on the ground than live knowing that you were proved wrong by someone who died moments afterwards?

<Marvin_Black> You didn't prove anything. I wanted to talk this out...

<Red_Queen> I'm glad you did.

<Marvin_Black> So you did want to live. I knew it.

Red_Queen chuckles, knowing that in the worst case, she'd be sporting a very bad headache.

<Red_Queen> I wanted to see how you'd react.

<Marvin_Black> If I would have been sure you really wanted to die...

<Red_Queen> you'd let me.. die?

Marvin_Black sighs

<Marvin_Black> I don't know...

<Marvin_Black> I just don't know it anymore...

Asm0dai passes next to them dodging the blades of a undead samurai...

<Asm0dai> (ok i gotta run... good night all :))

<Marvin_Black> (Good night Asmo.)

Red_Queen tries her best to hold back a triumpant smile.

<Marvin_Black> Who cares anyway...

Red_Queen rolled 4d10 dice and got: 2, 3, 9, 6

<Red_Queen> (empathic projection. you are suddenly struck with the feeling that Red cares)

<Marvin_Black> Why did I even bother to ask?

Red_Queen smiles.

<Marvin_Black> And why should you care?

<Red_Queen> I'll let you rest. And hopefully think on that. Not everything that happens is based on logic Marvin.. even the Technocrats have figured that out..

<Red_Queen> Sorry for the trouble I put you through.

<Marvin_Black> I'm used to that

Red_Queen thinks "But the end justifies the means"

<Marvin_Black> The strange bunch is even worse.

<Red_Queen> Still, I'd be glad if you could introduce me to your friends.

<Marvin_Black> They'd get you into more trouble than even I could do

Red_Queen smiles she is quite used to getting in troube by now.

<Red_Queen> Well, I believe I could handle myself quite well.

<Marvin_Black> You still don't really know them

<Marvin_Black> More then once we have been on the grasp of Death

Red_Queen seems a bit more serious now.

<Red_Queen> Still, Death and his grasp have been evaded. I have faith in both you and them..

<Marvin_Black> Don't put too much faith in me...

<Marvin_Black> I'm just me... Nothing more... Nothing special...

<Red_Queen> Yes. and you, If you want to, can handle yourself very well.

<Red_Queen> You're nothing more than what I'd want you to be. And you're nothing like anyone else. And that, my dear, is special.

<Marvin_Black> I'm not important... I never did anything good or special...

<Red_Queen> you still have time to change that.

Red_Queen is thinking that this masterpiece of sector coding is far from not special. "but hey."

<Marvin_Black> Why change anything? Why? It will die anyway!

<Red_Queen> for a person so skilled in the forces of Entropy, your persistence on stasis is.. unusual.

<Marvin_Black> (Especially since he has taught it all himself. You remember? He never finished school)

<Red_Queen> (yep. He has so much potential both tapped and untapped, and he can't realise it.)

<Marvin_Black> I have no special knowledge. I know how to speed up the process of things breaking doen. Big deal...

<Red_Queen> which is a change that you force upon them, based on your will. If your power worked like your views indicate, They should probably freeze in place.

Red_Queen shakes her head.

<Red_Queen> confusing.

<Red_Queen> You can control fate, still you deny to even face your own. Not to mention trying to change it.

<Marvin_Black> No just speeding up a process that always take place and will always take place. This will never change.

<Red_Queen> would it happen so fast, were it not for your intervention?

<Red_Queen> Have you ever even tried to do something else?

Red_Queen thins, that if trained, he would be a most valuable asset in a trip to Las Vegas. If he didn't make the slot machines crumble to dust.

<Red_Queen> I'm sure you can do more than that. All it takes is to try.

Red_Queen sighs, and silently considers kidnapping him and taking him to a cazino

<Marvin_Black> (Oh, and he has a flaw: His Entropy kicks in if he comes across signs of bad luck.)

<Marvin_Black> (He will avoid walking under ladders at all costs ^_^)

<Red_Queen> (8-) I can imagine his seeing a black cat ^^)

<Marvin_Black> Death, pain, fear, agony...

<Red_Queen> for winning a web design contest? Please, you almost remind me Staind's singer.

<Red_Queen> Woe is me, I have sold ten million copies of my record.

Marvin_Black looks around

Red_Queen is totally startled by his offer.

Marvin_Black walks over to Red and again puts one arm around her to hold her body to his. His wings spread and then he takes of into the dark sky of his sector flying above the buildings and streets, above the fog

<Marvin_Black> (Hehe.. Distraction succsessfull ^_^)

<Red_Queen> (lol, spending time like that with him is one of the best distractions he could offer 8-) )

<Marvin_Black> (and now he can avoid this question *g*)

<Red_Queen> (Don't think she'll totally forget it ^^ she's female!!)

<Marvin_Black> (He hopes he will know an answer then ;) )

<Red_Queen> It's exquisite Marvin. You truly are a gifted coder.

<Marvin_Black> It's nothing special. A picture of reality... Nothing more.

Red_Queen sighs in happiness, mentally blocking his reply.

<Red_Queen> whatever it is, its very well made.

Marvin_Black flys her around. The smaller buildings are nothing ore than silettes in the fog, other come out clearer. He flys around the hospital. It really looks similar to the one his friend died she may notice.

<Marvin_Black> No.. It isn't it's made by me... So it can't be... I just scribbled down the code

Marvin_Black thinks I just put in my point of view to this world... My feelings to it... But he doesn't say so aloud

<Red_Queen> Marvin, I have studied coding for years. Still, I'm quite certain I can't pull this off. scribbled, typed, whatever, this place is..

<Marvin_Black> Of course you could... You could do it even better...

<Red_Queen> I cannot imagine how much effort, and feeling you have put into it for it to become this good.

Red_Queen chuckles.

Marvin_Black lands on the heli pad of the hospital. From here the two have a "nice" view over thewhole sector

<Marvin_Black> I am not good

<Marvin_Black> (just four dots in computer with hacking trait /g/)

<Red_Queen> (rofl)

<Marvin_Black> A few lines of code... Everyone can do that

<Red_Queen> No. you're underestimating this. You are very good. You are much better than you realise. Than you let yourself realise.

<Red_Queen> The castle, I had to make a very strong effor to keep it together.

<Red_Queen> the moment I got distracted from concentrating on it, it almost fell apart.

<Red_Queen> The coding wasn't enough to keep it stable. It wasn't real enough. Nothing like this.

Red_Queen aves her hand at the sector around her.

<Red_Queen> (waves even)

<Marvin_Black> You could have done this.. I am sure... If I can do it everyone can do it

Red_Queen sighs.

<Red_Queen> (i'm going to try and draw this, them on the hospital roof, sitting next to each other 8-) )

<Marvin_Black> What is special about this sector? I don't know why I won anyway.

<Marvin_Black> (Hehe... Cool... The fog could be hard ;)

<Red_Queen> (hm, considering that I use pencils...)

<Red_Queen> (well, hopefully Corel will be able to help me ^^)

<Marvin_Black> (Lucky you that the hospital roof is made of cracked stone and not of the grate *g*)

<Red_Queen> Well, for starters, it was the most original design.

<Red_Queen> I don't think it was what anyone expected to see.

<Marvin_Black> Asmo expected it I could guess...

<Red_Queen> Judging by my fellow Adepts characters, I can understand why.

<Marvin_Black> Yes

<Red_Queen> Well, he *is* known for his capability to comprehend the workings of peoples minds..

Red_Queen thinks that maybe she could ask him for help on Marv, one day.

<Marvin_Black> We survived some things together... And Hannibal expected something less filled... I think he thought of a void

<Marvin_Black> But still.. There is nothing special...

<Marvin_Black> Yes... The guy giving me these strange movies

<Marvin_Black> (Marv nothign special: Wits 5 (Intuitive), Dex 5 (Lithe), Awareness 4 (Effects), Computer 4 (Hacking), Occult 4 (New Age) *g*)

<Red_Queen> (for someone so intuitive, he seems to be getting quite the wrong intuitions. *sigh*)

Red_Queen chuckles about the movies comment.

<Marvin_Black> I don't think anyone will come here anyway...

Red_Queen puts her arms around Marvin and rests her head on his shoulder.

<Red_Queen> I'm here.

<Red_Queen> And I'm glad you offered the guided tour.

Marvin_Black is paralysed for a moment. His eyes wander to Red leaning her head on his shoulder. It seems he just doesn't know what to do now.

<Marvin_Black> Um.. Why that?

<Red_Queen> so I can be with you.

<Red_Queen> you know, I'm actually glad you're right about noone else being around the sector now.

Marvin_Black seems utterly confused now. She shes it's hard for him to hide it.

<Marvin_Black> Errrrmmm.. Wh.. Why?

<Red_Queen> Because now I can have you for myself.

<Red_Queen> noone else around to divide our attention to and all...

Marvin_Black gulps expecting to feel a knife in his back any momemt.

Red_Queen smiles with the look on his face.

<Marvin_Black> Erm... And this means? So what?

<Red_Queen> I'm not going to harm you Marvin..

Red_Queen leans towards him and whispers in his ear.

<Red_Queen> can you try and do something for me?

<Red_Queen> can you give me a kiss?

Red_Queen waits still, her heart racing, almost audibly.

Marvin_Black coughs in surprise

<Marvin_Black> Wha.. whaa... what.. wh... why?

Marvin_Black s confusion is now clearly visible

Marvin_Black doesn't know how to handle this situation

<Red_Queen> Don't ask why.

<Red_Queen> Do you need another reason apart from me wanting you to?

<Marvin_Black> H... h... ho... how?

<Red_Queen> (ok. /action replaces the "all ages" sign with a PG one)

<Red_Queen> (^_^ "how?" lol. lolololol)

<Marvin_Black> (Hehe.. It's later than 22 so we may stage 16+ themes... In half an hour around here 18+ is allowed. ;) )

<Red_Queen> follow your intuitions Marv..

<Marvin_Black> (He never ever kissed before ^_^)

<Red_Queen> (rofl! well, there's always a first time for everything)

Red_Queen locks her lips with his.

Marvin_Black stiffens for a moment, then relaxes a little bit and then even more. His lips gently touch hers.

<Red_Queen> (WHEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! *goes for the champagne*)

Red_Queen slightly pulls her head, breathing heavily. "See? It doesn't hurt.."

Marvin_Black sits still. His thoughts run wild. He visibly doesn't know how to handle this situation. What to say what to do.

Marvin_Black gets up and looks at Red.

Red_Queen stands up next to him.

Marvin_Black almost seems diappointed and turns around

Red_Queen 's voice is somewhat cracking.

Marvin_Black gets up again and walks towards Red

Marvin_Black spreads his wings wide and takes off. But instead of going straight for the exit he goes higher and higher. Soon even the hospital roof is out of sight. The fog is gone. They are both all alon in what seems eternal darkness all around them.

<Red_Queen> Marv?

<Marvin_Black> Yes?

<Red_Queen> where are we going?

Red_Queen seems quite a bit surprised, and just a tad scared.

Marvin_Black holds the position. His wings flaping constantly. This is the only sound that can be heard in this darkness. But still he holds her body tight.

<Marvin_Black> I thought you could also like this sight.

<Red_Queen> I..

Red_Queen smiles, her face all blushed.

<Red_Queen> I do.

Red_Queen once again puts her lips on his, waiting for him to react.

Marvin_Black is surprised for a moment and forgets to flap, but instantly restarts it so they don't fall. He closes his eyes and slightly answers the kiss. But still more an act of his momentary confusion than an act of love or passion.

Red_Queen keeps her lips locked, holding onto him as tight as she can, not because of the height.

<Red_Queen> (really g2g)

<Marvin_Black> (Ok... Wait a sec. He will drop her any moment)

<Red_Queen> (ddddamn)

<Red_Queen> (just notdrop drop, please ^^)

Marvin_Black ends the kiss and looks at her for a moment. Then he goes for a steep dive. Their heir flutter in the wind. They are almost as fast as moments before when they fell. The street, the houses everything falls towards them.

Marvin_Black flies shortly above the houses gliding through the air with Red in his arms, holding her tight heading for the conduit.

Marvin_Black s speed slows down as the reach the exit. With a few flaps he lands and lets go of Red.

<Red_Queen> thanks for the interesting night, marvin..

<Red_Queen> I'll see you soon.

<Marvin_Black> I guess so

Marvin_Black still looks confused

Marvin_Black doesn't know what to say

Red_Queen stepped through the conduit, leaving him alone.

<Red_Queen> (byeeee.... it was great!)

<Marvin_Black> (thx. I agree. Great game)
